For once when you thought you are going to witness an alpha woman making a point, the script in a daily soap takes a U-turn only to bring back the doormat bahu/beti sagas. Analyze this, barring a handful of shows where strong women characters live and lead lives according to their will, most TV shows today fail to stand up to the promise they made during their launches.

The ever confused lot For that matter, full of verve Zoya in Qubool Hai and the emphatic and confident Sandhya in Diya Aur Baati Hum too are eternally seen confined to their houses and grappling with issues of marriage, domestic confinement putting a pause to their career aspirations. While Sandhya is seen planning surprise acts to impress her MIL Bhabho, Zoya is seen rediscovering happiness with her on-off beau Asad post following an accidental marriage to beloved's little brother. Though the two female protagonists have tried to emerge victors, only to encounter some other hurdles that would again keep them on the tenterhooks of solving domestic issues rather than look after their aspirations.

Actually more than QH..other shows like DABH and BV have claimed to break stereotypes about women...with a synopsis like that...QH never claimed their lead to be an alpha female..in fact they only took 2 episodes to establish their male lead as the alpha male...and now the alpha male has become dukhi aatma😆

Unfortunately, Zoya was never shown to have any career aspirations until very recently when she did talk to Asad about doing a job. Was the purpose of that scene simply to remind Asad about what Rashid did to his mother years ago or would Zoya be actually shown persuing a job in the upcoming episodes?

I would be so happy if the latter comes true but looking at the tensions created because of Rashid and Dilshad's decision this seems very unlikely :(
Couldn't agree more with the writer of this article.

Alpha female doesnt mean that she has to work. Look at the episode when she slaps Rajveer, that is also an alpha male. When they show Zoya as an independent woman that is an alpha female :)
