My role in Dhoom 3 is the toughest I have ever played: Aamir Khan
It's one of the biggest films of the year and it's set to release on December 20. Not surprisingly, when the trailer of Dhoom 3 was launched at IMAX today, the media was in full attendance. The film is the third instalment of the franchise and will have a fresh lead pair Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif along with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. The film will also feature Jackie Shroff. While the filmmakers along with the actors graced the occasion with their presence, the only two missing the launch were Chopra and Kaif. Here's a dekko of the do.
Khan on what made him sign Dhoom 3
Dhoom is a big franchise and, although I haven't watched Dhoom 2, I did watch the first edition. So I had an idea about the film and was very impressed when I heard the script. Victor (Vijay Krishna Acharya) has added emotions to this series and has maintained the thrill factor.
Khan on his character
I am playing a gymnast in the film, basically someone in the circus. So I needed to be physically fit and to play that character, I needed a certain physique. So I worked hard on my body for two years to achieve that look and flexibility.
Khan on stunts
We did intense training before getting into the shoot and, yes, we did some high-action stunts but with proper facilities from foreign stuntmen.
I want to add that we don't have the clichd Bollywood villains in this film, so my character will have a twist.
Khan On YRF
I always share my opinion with filmmakers and I hope my inputs make a difference. I enjoyed working with YRF and their team. Aditya (Chopra) is a creative man. It's a great production house and they give a 100 per cent to whatever they make. They are taking keen interest in the promotions too. YRF knows how to market their films.
Khan on completing his silver jubilee
I have completed 25 years in this industry and Dhoom 3 is probably the toughest role I have ever played.
Khan on Dhoom 3 breaking box-office records
I am not planning to create any record. I want the audience to like what we have made. They should get entertained and feel satisfied after watching the film.
Bachchan on his character
This is the third film where I play a cop again. I am the ACP in this film too. If I catch up with Aamir's character, maybe I will receive a promotion in the next series!
Director Vijay Krishna Acharya on the film
I have written the previous two Dhoom films, and with Dhoom 3, I got a chance to direct it too. There were a few challenges but I believe that unless you have challenges, you don't feel pushed to do better.
