lol u guys are talking about Anil kapoor...where the bigger heroes of this film are Amrish Puri and Paresh Rawal.
I don't think Anil Kapoor's role wasn't very difficult. its just another person fighting against injustice.

but Amrish Puri's role was amazing - he brings humor, terror and corruption all in one and it looks fantastically real.

just watch his performance in the interview video with Anil Kapoor, NO ACTOR can do that better than him... BOLLYWOOD has lost a great personality, and its a shameful that it doesn't value it.

Paresh Rawal was brilliant too, as a supporting character.

It's directed by Shankar and he is he best filmmaker in India. No Rajkumar Hirani or Mani Ratnam can compete him.
Take a look at his films.
Gentleman - remake The Gentleman(Chiranjeevi and Juhi Chawla) - Original was Blockbuster
Kadhalan - Humse Hai Muqabala(Prabhudeva and Nagma) - blockbuster
Indian - Hindustani (Kamal Hassan-Manisha Koirala)-blockbuster
Jeans - (Prashanth -Aish) - Was a huge hit in Tamil
Mudhalvan - Nayak - blockbuster
Boys - flop
Anniyan - Aparichit(Vikram) - blockbuster
Sivaji - (Rajinikanth) - blockbuster
Robot - (Rajinikanth) - blockbuster
Nanban - (3 Idiots - Tamil remake) - blockbuster

The only flop in his carer was 2003 film Boys otherwise all of his films are blockbusters.

That isn't true actually Kadhalan, Jeans, Mudhalvan, Boys and Anniyan were under performers compared to his other films in Tamil. What you said was right with the Telugu dubbed versions, all were hits except Sivaji which underperformed and Nanban dub which flopped.

Come on yaar, none except Boys underperformed generally. The films you referred might have underperformed compared to his others films but still they were huge hits.
In fact Kadhalan, Anniyan won Best Film awards which normally are won by the biggest hits. And who can forget Kadhalan's(Humse Hai Muqabala) music. Mudhalvan didn't win awards but was a big hit and this topic is about Mudhalvan's remake Nayak, so it's easy to guess how much it is still being loved. Jeans didn't win many awards but was a huge hit in Tamil and that's why it was dubbed in Hindi and Telugu. Also it was Oscar entry of that year.

As for Telugu versions, Shankar makes Tamil films. So, it hardly matters how well or not his film performed with dubbed versions. In that case, most of his films have failed in Hindi versions.

So, it's nothing wrong to refer these films as blockbusters.

Hey wasn't boys a hit? I always thought it was a hit too.
Tamil version Mudhalvan was the best version. Naayak was good too, but originals are originals😳 Arjun & Manisha both were were simply outstanding, Arjun is one awesome actor, I love his Rhythm as well.
