Usually the case with remakes. šŸ˜†šŸ˜† HAHK was the best remake.

Since I watched only the Hindi version of Nayak, I absolutely loved it.

I loved it too...it has great repeat value as you said. The only thing that bugged me was that it had too many songs which were irrelevant to the plot and kinda deterred the whole narration.

Everyone acted so well especially Amrish Puri...no one can play an evil CM like he did, Anil was great as well plus he looked believable as a common man (which many stars fail to do) and lastly Paresh Rawal...his character had so many variation from bringing light moments to doing serious scenes. Kudos to all of them. šŸ‘

It's directed by Shankar and he is he best filmmaker in India. No Rajkumar Hirani or Mani Ratnam can compete him.
Take a look at his films.
Gentleman - remake The Gentleman(Chiranjeevi and Juhi Chawla) - Original was Blockbuster
Kadhalan - Humse Hai Muqabala(Prabhudeva and Nagma) - blockbuster
Indian - Hindustani (Kamal Hassan-Manisha Koirala)-blockbuster
Jeans - (Prashanth -Aish) - Was a huge hit in Tamil
Mudhalvan - Nayak - blockbuster
Boys - flop
Anniyan - Aparichit(Vikram) - blockbuster
Sivaji - (Rajinikanth) - blockbuster
Robot - (Rajinikanth) - blockbuster
Nanban - (3 Idiots - Tamil remake) - blockbuster

The only flop in his carer was 2003 film Boys otherwise all of his films are blockbusters.

And now a hilarious fact.
Shahrukh rejected his Robot to make Ra.One with flop director Anubhav Sinha.

BTW his next is AI starring Vikram and I will watch it fdfs if it's releasing in Hindi.
Hope he directs a Bollywood film in the near future.

Nayak is great escapist affair I guess. It gives a glimpse what an amazing thing it would be to have a government which truly is of the people, by the people, for the people. So in this age of corruption it make us feel good and hence always make a good entertaining watch.

sorry for going off topic😊

Sharukh had rejected Shankar's Robot saying that it was a half baked script. and later he tried to imitate Robot, the Block Buster in Ra.one, the FlopšŸ˜†

The scene where his clothes are set on fire and Anil runs shirtless scared of the flames. Brilliant!
And Amrish Puriā¤ļø

I have watched just one song from the original..and as usual Manisha Koirala had better expressions than Rani Mukherjee with her over the top expressions.
