is from Gandhari

My teacher had once said that Duryondha's jealousy and frustration nature was from Gandhari .. As she receives news of yudi's birth info she just pinches her stomach in fit of jealousy and frustration ..

it is said baby nature sometimes depends on mother feeling during pregnancy hence it is told to pregnant woman to read good book and feel pleasant ..

i see they that show this in MB

Ghandhari also hits her stomach out of anger which causes a bit of flesh to come out of her.

Thus both father and son had to live a troubled existence because of what their moms did. Dhrit was to be a blind man throughout his life, because his mom Ambika shut her eyes throughout her time with Vyasa. Now the way Gandhari behaved during pregnancy caused havoc in the life of Duri. Lord Krishna asked after the whole war was finished and Gandhari was angry with Him, 'Did you ever look at your son with love and gently take him to the right path?'

I don't think all the blame should go to Gandhari...

Duryondhana's jealousy trait is from Dritharastra also...and more as compared to Gandhari

When a Baby is born in this world...it gets the traits of both the parents...
Here Dritharashtra is equally responsible for the baby...its his part also.

Drith is always jealous, highly ambitious, doesn't respect his wife so all the traits went to his sons...

Blaming the mother only for the Child's nature is not correct.

i was not blaming only gandhari .. i was stating a long believed fact tht baby develops the traits of what mother feels during pregnancy especially near delivery time ... which was the feeling frustration and jealously ..
even nurture played a huge part .. esp frm shakuni

Both parents are to be blamed to an extent .. dhirt blind ambition and palying the victim card is what duryo got from his father .. . to be honest gandhari still tried to make duryo understand what he was doing was wrong .. but dhirt just hoped pandavas just go away quietly and never said any strong word to duryo . ..

Gandhrai was expected to be frustrated...15-20 months and she is not able to deliver a baby...now which woman won't get frustrated...and then such a husband who always blames her for everything...Yeah I agree with u BlrBabe...that Gandhari was still understanding but Drith was never...Waiting for Monday now. 😃

You are probably blaming Dhrits mom for closing her eyes when she faces Vyasa for Niyog. It wasnt an unexpected reaction on her part and Vyasa had actually warned Satyawati about it and asked to let the queens have more time with him so as to get used to his ascetic appearance. Satyawati was in a hurry to get heirs for the throne therefore refused to wait that long. We could blame satyawati here but how about Vyasa making himself a little presentable before the two queens had to face him for Niyog?
You have again blamed Gandhari for the feeling of frustration but have you thought about Dhriti putting undue mental and psychological pressure on Gandhari not only for the delayed delivery but also by threatening to have a son from one of her maids?
It is strange how the women always get blamed for every wrong that men do!😲 It was Dhriti who was passing on his unmet ambitions to Duri by failing to stop him in his ways. Krishna blaming Gandhari actually points to her wrong decision to blindfold herself. Once blindfolded she could not "look" at her son with love or take him to the right path. Where Gandhari erred was to get emotional in her "pativrata-ness" and share her husbands misfortune of blindness by blindfolding herself.
If anything it shows that women need to learn to be more practical and assertive if they want to prevent the havoc going on in the world. They should have more faith in their ownselves than give in to men who may at times be less in intelligence , compassion or sometimes even courage.

i never said that Gandhari true nature was of jealousy .or she was an angry person .no not at all .. i was just stating tht during delivery time it is really believed that mothers pass their feelings to the baby ...
i have heard it frm my relatives and teacher .. and they cite duryo example for this fact ..
i meant her feeling in tht moment might have been passed on to him ..
i never said Gandhari's true nature is of tht
