I was so proud of the classy way Alak handled the situation when Kumud's family came with Saras to ask for her divorce. She just opened the door and greeted them with the manners of a well-brought up person, and not some animal like her brother.

She could have just not cared at all, since she was in the same boat having been sacrificed for the life of her brother. But Alak has always been the more intelligent, stronger, and more levelheaded of the two siblings. She was a better SIL than her mother has been a saas.

Because her life is already compromised, she could see the unbearable compromise Kumud was being forced to make with her marriage and felt her emotions without being blinded. She had nothing personal to gain by being nice to the Desais when they came, but the kind of person she is makes her someone worth knowing. She is more her father's daughter than anything else. Ambitious, but with a conscience.

Hats off to this character for putting up with both brother and mother. 👏👏👏

I agree! I love the character of Alak! She is the best Dharamadikari. She is class personified! Like
her Dad, she has a sense of fair play and a conscience! Two things her Mother and wastrel brother totally lack!!

I also really like the way Vabhiz Dorabjee plays her. I have never seen her in anything. Since I am relatively new to Indian TV. But since seeing her in SC, and her portrayal of Alak, I have become her fan!!

So true
The mum is just so blind in affection for her son that as usual they forget they also have a daughter too
Loved her courage to put her mother right, someone nerds to show the woman the right path
