I liked that scene a lot..

I wish he had defended himself.. but I kind of liked that he said nothing, because his men are his responsibility.. Looks like Jodha is helping him in his administration.. Citizen grievances😆

I guess Jalal is a lot more sensitive than other people. He felt that his people were his responsibility as you mention. It was important to note that when talking to Atgah Khan, or whatever the hell his name is, he did not say anything about the war itself, for he knew that it couldn't have been stopped, but he talked about how one bad move of his people can ruin the image he was trying to create.
The war had to happen. Jodha is plain stupid if she thinks that wars will not involve bloodshed, as if her so-called Rajvanshis don't create wars. I think her grievances were more about the death of Suryabhan than anything else. However, Jalal did not worry about the war itself but the way his people were trying to waste his efforts. This may lead him to Adham.

why he didn't defend himself was because he knew soldiers were looting flashback he recollected back then he was only to get power now he changed a bit because of jodha the incident were he blaimed jodha of killing the unborn changed the view in him .
looking into the matter deeply nowadays slowly things have changed first jalal wanted to rule people but now he wants to rule there heart too.
he feels guilty of killing amer brave soldiers in anger he too did blunders now he wants to clear the mistakes he has done.

Jalal is the USP of the show and whenever he appears in a scene he just steals the scene,, 😃..I liked how he didn't defend himself as because being an emperor he just can't wash his hands off his responsibility of what his men did in his name...😊
