ETHICS and INFIDELITY and MORALS and REGRESSIVE THINKING..
Just trying to explain what I feel about these terms...and since these have been mentioned one way or other in multiple posts, I would like to offer my POV on the same.😊
A marriage has to be the union of two souls, as far as Zoya is concerned...and she has said that very clearly...mere dil pe sirf ek naam likha hai...
And even on Friday, she was asking Ayan to make it clear to every one that their marriage is F A K E . It has no meaning...it is just a drama for Nikhat.
Zoya and Ayan and ASAD are not even thinking about talak as an option, because they are still trying to make the accidental nikah a NO_ NIKAH.
Zoya is there only because Asad and Ayan want her there...one is a friend, and the other, her lover. And in a weak moment, she agreed to postpone her wedding because these two idiots convinced her they'd get her out safely...all for the sake of one weak sister. Of course, she was the bigger idiot to trust Asad.When he left like that, without a word,she was shocked.
Zoya is just coming out of the shock...she has no clue what to do now. The deed has been done, the damage is hers...now she has two options:
1. Walk out holding her head high and head towards NY
2. Be sympathetic to Nikhat, knowing the bros have screwed up her (Zoya's) life already! Might as well finish the ACT, if that was what led to this whole thing.
None of us know how worse or better this can get.
Validity of nikah in a Court of Law...What is Society and Law and a piece of paper to two people in love?😆
It is not like she has been bound to Ayan for life...Rashid was never bound to Dilshad for life...Worse comes to worse, they know talak is a way out...but there is a lot of embarassment here, caused by people's expectations from them as a married couple.
Regressive Vs. Morals:
Does Asad have no right towards Zoya?
Not if he had made Zoya hold the pen and sign...He pleaded with her to trust in their love...she did. The CHOICE WAS ENTIRELY HERS.
(ONE POINT WORTH MENTIONING HERE IS HOW ZOYA JERKED HER HAND OFF ASAD'S GRIP WHEN SHE WENT FORWARD TO SIGN IT...SUBCONSCIOUSLY, HE WAS HOLDING HER BACK...AND SHE WAS IRKED, BECAUSE SHE KNEW MR. KHAN WOULD NOT even LISTEN TO HIS SUBCONSCIOUS.)
What did he say when he sent her off?
- I will make it alright.
DID SHE TRUST HIM WHEN HE SAID THAT?
Yes.
Does he have an obligation towards her now?
YES.
Is it infidelity to call her up now?
Only if Ayan and Zoya considers themselves married!
And if Asad is asking her to sleep with him or run away with him...He is only calling up to comfort her...there is no infidelity there. Just reassuring someone he loves.
Would you call Ayan a deserter and wife sharer because he told his brother that Zoya would be ONLY HIS...?
I hope not.
Where does Regressive thinking come in all this?
Regressive is when you think two people who have been forced in to a situation by FATE or DESTINY or MUQADDAR should live their lives DICTATED BY A PIECE OF PAPER, they were forced to sign.
Progressive is when you feel people can change their destiny...😊
When you realise LOVE STANDS ABOVE ALL THIS.
And if you feel that there is infidelity based on your morals...YOU ARE NOT ALONE..
In fact, the majority of society will be with you. They have been , throughout history...
And only love stories that have gone against the tide, have been considered worth singing about...

PS:
One more point I have already discussed before.
It has been shown clearly through the dialogues that when Asad took her to SM, he had only intended for a public display of Zoyaan to satisfy people and THEN GET BACK HOME WITH HER.
The qasis and Nikhat's second attempt sped things up and worsened it.
Asad had ran behind Zoya not to drag her back...it was to reason with her, and may be even return home...when Shireen showed him Nikhat and made him sacrifice himself...
A decision he regretted when he reached home...galati ho gayi, Ammi...
