Bala never said he was related to the owner of the hospital. All he said is he works there and has jaan pehchan. The word sweeper was meant to be a descriptive adjective. No derogatory overtones were intended to make fun of sweepers, so lets not give it additional meaning.
But lets face it ... His lofty promises would only have meaning if he were an administrator or a human resource manager at the hospital.
Given that ganga was a top ranking student in her college -- to jump at this unknown stranger's offer as if she was last on the merit list barely scraping through by the skin of her teeth was really odd. Only students who don't have confidence to go see their profs do that sort of thing.
She knew her profs well, they had a high opinion of her -- why not go to one of them if only to consult with them?
As far as self-respect goes -- I still feel she has none -- it has nothing to do with her poverty status. Being dependent on jagya and the singhs was okay till she had no resources and was absolutely helpless. But after going to Mangalore, she should herself not have entertained a jetsar hospital offer from Jagya ... and should have made earnest efforts to find a job on her own and distance herself from Jagya (do her part atleast -- then if he kept coming to see her, she couldn't very well throw him out ... but do her part atleast... knowing that she has feelings for him)
what exactly would that scenario lead to ? saanchi will be his legal wife at home, and in the hospital ganga would be his imaginary proxy wife??
