ya dats rite..n da sentnc dey spoke "nanu kannad godila" ws also wrng..neway dats fyn cos hindi spkn ppl cnt spk prfct kannada..bt da outfit ws all wrng..karnataka is diffrnt frm tamilians n mallus..wah dey shwd ws more of tamil culture mixd up wid malyalam wid all dat lungi (dhoti) n white bindi typ mark on the forehead..mlore or even kannadigas dn quite wear lyk dat often..n ofcos da accent ws entirly dif frm mlore kannada..here v spk almst all main langs actly..mlore is one of the great cities n is a vry posh city actly..mlore is more lyk goa n ppl too are konkanis are more..nobdy wears or spks lyk wat dey shwd..dat too in a hotel..lolzzz..

I truly agree with u...dis is kinda insult to south India...they should at least have some basic knowledge...if they are unaware of culture down, they should at least take someone's help...currently i am living in Bangalore though i am from Andhra...it has been a month since i came here...even i know a bit of Kannada and understood what Jagya taught Ganga was wrong in Kannada

And even Bollywood whenever they remake any south Indian movie they treat every south Indian movie to be "Tamil movie" it really annoys me...there are many movies in Hindi which were taken from Telugu n given Tamil credits...it really pisses me off...

lol infact wen sum northy or bengali or gujju asks us sum questions v ans dem bak in hindi itslf by not bein territorial n all dat..karnataka is 1 state werif u go to north of karnataka ppl wil undrstan n spk marathi hindi eng kannada n if u cum dwn to west part or the whole western ghats ppl wil undrstan n spk konkani tulu kannada hindi english
n den if u cum south of karnataka its multicultured in blore..ive had all kind of frns frm bengal bihar rajasthan punjab tamil nadu andhra etc etc..n ofcos da rest part too undrstands tamil telugu kannada hindi..

yup dats rite..infact no odr state spks in evry odr lang u ask nethn..if u go to tamil nadu dey wnt ansr u if u ask in hindi or kannada..evn in the north lyk punjab or evn maharashtra if u go n spk in kannada or tamil or evn in bengali nbdy wil understan..

Thanks very much, you're right, actually, it's a pic from the movie Life of Pi, magnificent (for me!),

in its symbolism (and paradox), fiction and environment, music, whole idea (characters not funny nor idle, on the contrary), fabulous actors as well.

Trying to find out more regarding subject of this thread (clothing and restaurants), I read, in LofPi, it's Pondicherry District, where the clothing, as I found, both traditional and very modern (you know best)

I think, that in LofPi is the same case, but, yes, jasmine flowers in hair, too.

I learned smth(say only smth) about Karnataka (Bangalore, Coorg-😊like it very much) described and proposed in FF Affairs of the hearth by @blukitten.

(agree that imposed generalization, specially wrong, can be prickly, hope not too serious here)

i am glad some1 raised this even i felt same thing ...i am from blore and i dont think in karnataka ppl wear lungis dhotis in small hotels also...oh this northies and thier assumptions ...dunno wen vil they change the perspective

and no one in karnataka puts the mark vibhuti on thier head like the tamilians or keralites do it. first they say mangalore and they dont even know how kannad ppl dress n their culture...thank god atleast they dint say that mangalore is in tamilnadu or kerela
