On 14th of August 1947, Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign nation .It was a result of Pakistan movement for a separate muslim state ,lead by Mohammed Ali Jinnah.
Every year the main ceremony takes place in Islamabad .Beginning with flag hoisting and National Anthem ,the function goes on with speeches given by leaders and celebratory events which are telecasted all over the country.

Qaumi Tarana , the national anthem of Pakistan ,composed by Ahmad G Chagla and written by Hafeez Jullundhri is not only known for its melodious and harmonic nature but also for the fact that no verse in the 3 stanza repeats itself.

Adding to the golden feathers , this anthem which makes millions of Pakistani's proud, has set the record for the most number of people singing an anthem simultaneously . (20th October 2012,Stadium Lahore)
