Is Akarsh's mother evil?

Hi everyone, I'm a new member of this forum as I have just started to watch Ek Ghar Banauga.
I just started watching the show but I don't know the storyline very well. Also, I don't understand is Akarsh's mother evil? I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me the whole storyline so far and whether Akarsh's mother is evil. I'm also quite a silent member of this forum for the past few days or so. I also don't understand all the characters. Well I'm sorry if I am bothering all of you. It's just that I have started watching this show recently and I'm slightly confused about the storyline.

Okay so here is whats happening:

Poonam and Akash bumped into each other one day on Poonam's parents way to the airport. Akash fell for Poonam at first sight. He kept making excuses to come see her and when he decided he would tell her his feelings, she announced her engagement. Akash is devastated, Poonam has no feelings for Akash, an she is marrying her teacher sue to her parents insistence. Akash plans the wedding, but her in laws are bad people and the wedding is called off last minute. Akash and Poonam get married, Poonam is outraged at his love for her. They go home, the family is mad.poons parents get kicked out of their house for not being able to repay loans and Poonam promises Akash's family she will leave in 6 months.

Akaash's mom is pure evil. She is a despicable women who uses people to get her way, and makes sure the blame falls on someone else!

She even drinks with her husband in their room but in front of the family acts like she is this real goody two shoes women. She is a class A hypocrite. I despise her character and hope I never meet someone like her in real life!!
