"OUCH!" Najma yelped in pain as her trainer threw her workout ball at her lap, almost hitting her in the abdomen.
"Najma! You okay?" Asad put the magazine down and ran to his baby sister when he heard her yell in pain. Najma nodded furiously and looked at her physical trainer weirdly. Asad saw the woman sitting on the bench and rolling her eyes. He marched up to her instantly.
"What the hell were you thinking? My sister's been in a terrible car accident and she doesn't have the energy to tolerate the shit you're throwing at her! She's on crutches at the moment so please do NOT try to act as if your smart ass knows everything about her!" Asad yelled at her and saw her grin.
"A little piece of advice. Stop baby sitting your sister when she's at the age of 26. She's injured, not permanently handicapped." She said smugly.
Just when Asad was going to answer back and ask her how he knew so much about his sister, a man from the hospital walked in with a wheel chair, "Here's your wheel chair, Zoe! And the cab is here, let's get you home."
Zoya got on the wheel chair with almost no struggle and sat with a sigh. Asad and Najma exchanged glances and then looked at her. "I'm really sorry. We didn't know that you were-"
"Handicapped? Would you date me if I wasn't how I am right now?" Zoya smiled.
Asad was caught off-guard, "What?" He laughed slightly with a frown.
Zoya just shook her head and turned her wheel chair in the direction of the exit, "Don't rely on your brother always, Najma. It's nice to see you'll bond, but there are some things you're supposed to do on your own. I'm Zoya by the way." Zoya smiled a dimpled smile and wheeled out.
"She's feisty." Asad exclaimed.
"Definitely." Najma exclaimed and they both decided to go home. Throughout the drive, Asad couldn't forget what the gorgeous but extremely rude woman had told him and his sister. What could've made her that way? A bad past maybe? Well, who was he to judge? Anyway, the woman didn't really impress him. He liked hot girls not cute girls.

The next day Asad went to drop his sister to physical therapy class again. Her spine and limbs were fractured and it took a great load of work out for her limbs to start functioning again. To top it all, he found out that the feisty woman he'd met the previous day was a former patient of the hospital and indeed a very feisty slash egoistic slash emotionally drained slash broken woman. Not like he cared or wanted to talk to her.
"So I'm gonna pick you up in an hour precisely. Take care of yourself." Asad patted his sister's cheek softly and turned to go.
"You going to meet that bitch?" Najma asked him.
"Najma. She's my girlfriend. Don't say that." Asad warned her with a scowl which changed in to a smile when he saw her pout. He drove off.
oOo
"We're having this bar opening party tonight. You should definitely come!" Najma invited Zoya, while grabbing her crutches.
"Hey! You don't need 'em anymore! And I can't come on a wheel chair now, can I?" Zoya said softly.
"Yeah, I can walk now. It feels great to be back on my feet." Najma squealed and threw her crutches aside.
"Well, that's great. Don't forget to take your pain medication. See you later." Zoya turned her wheel chair to go.
"Why aren't you coming though? Bhaijaan has the whole city coming I guess. You should come."
"I don't do parties. People like me aren't invited."
"But I am inviting you. Come on Zoe! I'll make you meet Arif, my boyfriend and bhaijaan's girlfriend. She's the skankiest bitch you'll ever find." Najma huffed.
"If she's so 'skanky' why would I wanna meet her?" Zoya shrugged.
"Oh just come to the damn party will you?"
"Fine. I'll be there by 7. Just text me the address, alright?" Zoya waved Najma off. She knew for a fact that today something vast was going to happen.
oOo
"You look hot, babe." Asad told his girlfriend, Tanveer.
"I always do, right? By the way, the bar is amazing! Get me one cosmo please." She batted her eyelashes.
"Sure."Asad kissed her quickly and went to the bar, where he found the 'feisty therapist'.
"Well hello there! I'm assuming Najma invited you over." Asad asked while asking one of his men to bring him two cosmo's.
"Yeah she did. I thought it'd be fun. Turns out the bar is as shitty as this party and it's people." Zoya said smugly.
Asad couldn't believe his ears, "Well you're as shallow as I thought you'd be when I first met you, isn't it? But my crazy little sister thinks it's you whose her new 'BFF'!" He waved his fingers in the air.
"You can't really blame her. I'm fabulous sometimes."
"You think you're too good on that wheel chair of yours, don't you?" Asad spat ruthlessly, instantly wiping the smile off of Zoya's face.
"Wow." Zoya said softly and Asad rubbed his brows in resentment. "Look I didn't mean it. Just don't think you know everything about everyone."
"No that's cool! I'm used to it. Anyways, Najma told me you had an equally feisty girlfriend. Mind if I meet her?" Zoya raised her brows.
Asad looked at her suspiciously and nodded afterward, "Sure." He led Zoya to Tanveer after taking their drinks.
oOo
"You are so beautiful, Tanveer." Zoya complimented Tanveer and Tanveer seemed visibly flattered. She loved it when people gave her worthless compliments. Well, they were worthy for her apparently.
"Thank you Zoya. Anyway, Asad we have to go to the Annual Charity Ball tomorrow and behave like we're completely in to each other. I need votes to become the head of the party there!" Tanveer nudged Asad while he just nodded sweetly.
"Yeah Asad, go ahead..do what a faithful dog does!" Zoya commented.
"What did you say?" Tanveer frowned.
"Oh nothing. I just used the wrong word. I meant an ASS!" Zoya yelled a little more louder.
"Zoya!" Asad yelled incredulously.
"What? Are you seriously dating her?! It's clear that she's doing all this only for her benefit! Why would you be in a relationship with a girl like her?!"
"You are no one to tell me who I should be dating. Baby, don't listen to her."
"Right. You know? I may be paralyzed from my waist below, but my eyes and my brain are extremely sharp. I can see what you're doing!" She blamed Tanveer.
"Babe, why don't you go meet other people. I'll be there in a second." Tanveer nodded and rolled her eyes at Zoya before walking away.
"What the f**k is your problem?" Asad scratched his chin as an attempt to keep his calm.
"You are my problem! Just let go off her as soon as possible! She's horrible to be with."
"Why? Just because you don't like her? Really?!" Asad rubbed his brows.
"No. It's because I like you." Zoya said in the spur of the moment.
