Chapter 2
Those were the most gorgeous pair of eyes he had ever seen. Big, innocent and….. Scared? They roved over pointedly first at Vikrant and then at him. They widened as soon as she noticed him watching her, making them even more enormous and stunning. He wasn't able to look at her entirely as she was hiding using Rosy as her shield. All he could make out was that she was a young girl. Maybe still in her teens. Curiosity getting the better of him, he stepped inside the tiny room walking obstinately in the direction of where Rosy and the girl stood.
The girl flinched with every step he took towards them, holding onto Rosy's arm in a death grip. He noticed Rosy wince in pain with the forceful grasp but she smiled as she noticed him watching them. "Hello Reyaansh" She greeted him with an immodest vibe in her voice. "How have you been? We haven't seen much of you around here lately."
He ignored the woman lapped in heavy makeup and looked at the little girl instead. She really did have beautiful eyes but she looked like she was about to cry. Why? He hadn't said or done anything to scare her out of her wits. At least not yet.
He stopped advancing and stood a good 3 feet away from the duo. He signaled Rosy with a flick of his finger to move out of his way so he could have a good look at the girl with those gorgeous eyes. Rosy hesitated for a brief second which made Reyaansh raise his eyebrows suggestively. Obviously nobody denied him of anything and she immediately nodded realizing who she was dealing with. She squeezed the girl's hand reassuring her that she would be ok by herself. She shifted to her left but was close enough to spring right back in front of him if it was needed. He would have laughed out loud at Rosy's poor attempt of being the heroic guardian if he wasn't left struck by what stood in front of him. Or rather who stood in front of him!
She was dazzling and he couldn't just talk about those eyes anymore although they were the most captivating of all her features. Her hair was tied in a loose ponytail, with tendrils falling over her soft but pale looking face. She wore a light pick salwar kameez with a blue dupatta clutched at her sides with fists so tight he could literally see the veins bursting out. Her feet were bare and she had her toes scrunched nervously. He looked up to meet her eyes again, the hazel in them enthralling him. Even though he knew she was terrified, he couldn't help his feet moving up till they were almost toe to toe with the girl's.
She skewed further into the wall, trying to put as much distance as she could. He felt her short quick breaths on his neck, her chest heaving with anxiety and the thundering of her heart that he sure could hear from where he stood. Or was it his? He hadn't realized until now that his breathing had quickened too. A wayward lock of her hair falling on the left eye irritated him and he lifted his hand to tuck it away. As soon as she realized what he would do, her eyes got double their size before she shut them off real tight.
She amused him with her timorous avatar and he leaned closer when he suddenly heard a faint "Please" from her trembling lips, making him stop just short of touching her. That soft voice striking a cord in him. He slowly got his hand back down and pushed it in his pocket. He remained standing there watching her until she opened her eyes again and was surprised that he had actually stopped.
"What's your name?" He asked in his dangerously low tone making her quail further.
"Kria." Reyaansh glared at Meera bai who had now come to stand next to him. "Her name is Kria." She repeated making him growl in displeasure at being interrupted. He looked at the girl one last time before turning on his heels and walking out of the door.

Reyaansh clicked his glass of wine with Mr. Singhania's, "Congratulations my boy!" he said "You cracked the deal!" Reyaansh nodded taking a sip of the liquor and winced at the taste. How did these people drink this? His desi was so much better.
"Where is my money?" He asked, putting the glass back on the table. He couldn't get that acid down his throat.
Singhania laughed, "You don't waste time, do you?" He went to his electronic safe and punched the code. "You know Reyaansh, I really admire you and I am still hoping you would come work for me."
Reyaansh ignored the old man and walked to the window looking down the 24th floor. "Why did you choose to live up here?" he asked and Singhania looked at him confused. "Kya?"
He turned and leaned against the frame, "The world down there is a chessboard and the people your pawns." Singhania kept staring at him with a blank expression which made him laugh, "I don't wish to be one of your pawns. I am the master of my own domain."
Singhania shook his head and threw a bundle of cash on the table, "One day Reyaansh when you learn the true value of these," He pointed at the money. "You would come crawling to me."
Reyaansh walked to the man looking him straight in the eye, "Until then, lick my a**!" Singhania laughed clapping Reyaansh's back. "We shall see." Picking the bundle he handed it to the young man. "If I was in your place I would use these wisely on someone special tonight." He said with a suggestive wink and instantly Reyaansh's mind wandered to the hazel eyed beauty.
"Oh don't worry about that Singhania sahab" Said Vikrant, who was sitting in one of the bar stools downing glass after glass of wine. "We plan to do just that." Reyaansh took the money from Singhania with a concluding nod and went to drag Vikrant out of here. For once Vikrant was right. He planned to do just that.

Kria stood at the window gripping the bars till her fingers hurt. She had tried every possible thing she could try. The door was locked, the windows had grills, the bathroom windows were sealed too. There was absolutely no way out here. So then she had spent most of her time brooding over her ill-fated life. She watched the sun slowly setting which increased her anxiety every minute. Soon it would be night and Rosy had told her to be prepared for anything. She heard the door unlatch and she ran to the farthest corner wrapping her duputta tightly around her. A young girl entered her room holding some clothes in one hand and something wrapped in paper in the other. She looked around and spotted Kria plastered to the wall and apprehensively watching her. She laughed, keeping the stuff on the bed, "Relax! I'm just delivering this to you and I don't bite so you can leave that wall Miss. Chipkali."
Kria stayed where she was. The girl sighed and flopped on the bed. She started to go through the clothes she had brought with her. She waved a dingy looking choli at her and threw it aside. "I hope this fits you. I can't really make out your size with all that dupatta around you." she muttered and sought out an equally creepy looking lengha. "You have to wear this right now." She said and collected the remaining clothes, leaving the paper parcel behind. "And here is some food." She looked at the wrapped paper. "Make the guy comfortable. Then he won't be so cruel." She walked to the door and burst out laughing, "Oh who am I kidding?" She turned to Kria, her laughing face switched to a serious one now. "Do whatever, they will still be animals."
The tears that Kria had tried to hold for so long finally broke the dam. She fell to the ground, her arms wrapping her legs, her head between her knees. She cried with every fiber of her being. She cried for her past. She cried for what lay ahead. She felt a hand on her head and she looked up to see the girl kneeling in front of her. "Don't cry." She said, wiping a tear off Kria's cheek. "There is no point in these tears. Nobody bothers." This made her cry harder. The girl let out a wicked laugh and slapped Kria hard across her face. "I said stop bellowing!" She grabbed her hair tugging her head back. She watched the pretty girl with new tears streaming down her face which irritated her further. "Now listen Chipkali, if you want to live here in peace just go with the flow. Wear those clothes, be a good girl and surrender without any fight. And stop crying." She slapped her once again before leaving the room. Kria buried her head in her hands and let the rest of her tears flow.

Meera bai watched them with a smirk. "Welcome boys! How can I help you today?" Vikrant leaned and whispered something in the old lady's ears. Meera bai laughed and handed him a pair of keys and he was off in a blink. She turned to him, "And for you Reyaansh? The usual?"
When he shook his head in the negative, she gave him a knowing smile. "Kria?"
He dint respond to the question but placed some bills on the side table. She collected the money and gave him a set of keys. Just as he was about to leave the door, she called out. "Go easy on her, Reyaansh. She is a kid."

He locked the door and stepped inside. He looked around and saw some clothes lying on the bed but he couldn't see her. He walked to the bathroom and checked if she was in there but it was empty too. Where was she? Did she manage to run away? No girl ever could, with all his men sprawling around the area. So where was she? He heard a sniff in the far corner and that's when he saw her balled up in a tiny bundle. She was hugging her knees with her head resting on them. He moved towards her and she must have heard him coz she looked up startled. He stopped in his track when he gazed in her tear-ed eyes. She looked so frail and petite. She got up from the floor holding the same pale blue dupatta bunched up in tight fists at her chest with fresh hot tears pouring down her innocent face.
He took a step further and he saw her cringe with revulsion. She backed till she was literally mummified to the wall. Her fearful eyes watching him with alarm and she was shaking like a leaf. An alien feeling struck deep down his gut which made him stop advancing. Her silent sobs twisting an invisible knife in his chest. He dint know what came over him but in that moment he knew he couldn't do this. He cursed under his breath and walked to the door and paused with his hand on the doorknob. He turned to glance at her one last time before stepping out.

Kria collapsed back on the floor as soon as soon as she saw the door close behind him. Clutching her hair in both her hands she wailed. She dint know what happened. She had never been so terrified in her life. Not even when her step mother would lock her up in the closet for hours when she was a little girl. But then he had left and her world had come crashing back down. She was not r*ped and was still alive. At least for this night.

Reyaansh finished his third glass of rum but he couldn't get that timid face out of his head. He dint know what possessed him to stop but something had gone terribly wrong. He had hated to leave but he just couldn't stand the sight of her tears. She looked like a helpless, frightened kitten. Oh what was wrong with him? When had he turned into such a softy? He had never bothered with anyone's fears before. But there was something about her. She was so young and that sinless face was playing havoc with his senses.
Yes, he wanted her, there was no doubt about that. He had wanted her since the time he had laid eyes on her this morning. She was a gorgeous girl who wouldn't want her? But just the thought of someone else touching her made his blood boil. He shook his head and downed another glass of rum. Since when did he care for a hooker's customers? He had to go see someone else. He couldn't keep thinking of her and ruining his night.
Half an hour later, he walked back at Meera bai's and threw the money on the table. She looked at him with confusion written all over her face. "I'll take my usual." He said and went to Rosy's room.
