Hi Everyone ... how are you'll? Most of MY readers know that I've taken a small break from my FF. However I couldn't stop writing altogether😆. I wrote an OS ... hope you'll enjoy it 😳!
Manyata woke up this morning , with a sense that her life was going to take a drastic turn soon. Seemaji brought her, her bed-tea together with a letter. Excitedly , she tore off the envelop and started to read the "love-note" . Hello , my sweetest Moniya ... I missed u so much. Do u know what day is forth-coming? Of-course - you do , how could u not? We both have been waiting for it , since 2 years! I can't wait to see u again. I can't wait to have u in my arms again! I love you so much Moniya ... I'll be back in Mumbai next week. I hope UdayVeer hasn't forgotten our agreement! Your ever-loving Akash.
Manyata kissed the letter lovingly ... "I can't wait for your return Akash ... COME FAST" , she started to blush.
{Flashback } ... Akash was found in Manyata's closet. Uday was livid and beat Akash up till he was half-dead. Manyata over-heard DS talking to the Commissioner of Police , DS was planning to keep Akash in jail for the rest of his life . She was framing him with a number of ghastly charges and with Akash's parents being as poor as they were - getting a good lawyer was definitely out of the question. Akash , obviously stood no chance in court.
Manyata's ONLY HOPE of getting Akash out of jail ; was ... UDAYVEER! She sneaked out of the palace at night , and took a taxi to Uday Niwas. She got into the elevator and exited on the top-most floor ... Uday's pent-house. The place was a mess - it seemed that after Uday turned Akash into mulch ... he tried to do the same to his home. Glass pieces , together with mirror fragments covered the floor. Uday was seated comfortably in his favourite chair , with a glass of Brandy in his bloodied hand.
"Uday" , Manyata called out to him , but he didn't answer ... perhaps he didn't hear her. She kneeled in front of him , slowly removing the glass from his hand ... she called again: "UDAY". He looked down and smiled at her sweetly : "Princess" , he whispered. He moved his hand to touch her face - to see if she was really there. Indeed she was! His happiness , however; was short-lived as the first words out of Manyata's mouth was : "Please free Akash!"
The word AKASH set his blood boiling and he stood up from his seat , knocking her onto her bottom. "Akash , Akash , Akash ... the world revolves around Akash , right Princess?" "MY WORLD DOES!" , she answered ; piercing his already shattered heart. "Then why are u here ... WITH ME ... go be with YOUR Akash!"
She started to tell Uday what DS was planning for Akash. There was an extended silence as Manyata waited for Uday to answer her , of whether he'd help them out - or not. "What would I get , if I have Akash released?" , Uday asked . "Anything Uday ... I'LL DO ANYTHING FOR AKASH!"
Uday gave his signature smirk and what he asked for next ; was beyond anything Manyata could have imagined. "Marry me!"
"WHAT?"
"U heard me - MARRY ME ... and live AS MY WIFE for the next 2 years."
"And Akash?"
"Akash will be released the moment you become my wife."
After a short thought .. "FINE!" , she replied. "Think about it Princess ... take some time and think it through ... U will be staying in the same house as me , under the same roof , in the same bedroom ... sharing MY BED ; and giving me all the privileges of BEING A HUSBAND TO MY WIFE!" His tone was cold and his eyes emoted emptiness.
Manyata nodded her head in a YES: "Tomorrow , we'll get married ".
"Whoa Princess - aren't u in a hurry ?"
"Yes - because it means Akash's freedom ... and that's all that matters ; haan nai toh!"
She walked out , satisfied about the deal she just made. It was only when she reached the Raj-Mahel , did she realise what she agreed to.
How would she "give herself" to a man she despised? How was she going to spend 730 nights with THAT MONSTER? What happens after that 2 years? Would Akash still be there , waiting for her? Would he accept her , knowing that she gave away HIS RIGHT TO TOUCH HER to SOMEONE ELSE?
She sobbed the entire night . First thing , the next morning , she visited Akash in jail and told him about her deal with Uday ... leaving out some very IMPORTANT tit-bits. "After 2 years , he'll divorce you and then we'll be together?", Akash enquired. "Haan Akash ", she replied looking away from him. He held out is hands from between the iron-bars and touched her cheek : "Moniya - I trust you , I know you're taking this massive step JUST FOR ME!
As soon as I'm out , I'll leave Mumbai and go in search of a good job ... I'll return for you in exactly 2 years , your family will HAVE TO AGREE to us, being together!" She forced a smile hearing his words. "Akash , I'll be living as UdayVeer's WIFE" , she stressed on the word WIFE ; hoping Akash would understand.
"As much as I hate UdayVeer - I believe that he truly loves you ... HE WILL NOT FORCE YOU TO DO ANYTHING, AGAINST YOUR WILL!" Akash's words reassured her and she walked out confidently from her past , into her present.
The wedding preparations were carried out in a matter of 2 hours and within no time at all , Manveer were circling the sacred fire ... taking their marriage-vows. As per the agreement , Akash was immediately released.
Manyata sat on the bed waiting for her "husband" . She was not sure if Akash's words would come true , or Udayveer's threats. Hours had passed before Uday made his entry. Slightly unstable was his stance , perhaps due to those vodka shots he had with his friends in the bar. He sat close to her and moved the ghoongat off her head. "Gorgeous", he muttered.
He leaned closer and started to nibble on her neck , making her extremely uncomfortable. She flinched every time his lips brushed against her skin. Hot tears flowed from her eyes and trickled down her cheeks. Uday moved her sari's blouse off her shoulder and bit hard into her skin , leaving his love imprint there. Her body shook with fright and her tears poured out faster. Uday chose to ignore it! He pushed his hand into her blouse and began caressing her bosom.
"Uday - are u going to rape me now?" , her voice was cracking in pain and Uday sobered with the question. He stared at her for what seemed like eternity , before taking his pillow and walking to a chair nearby , where he was to spend the rest of the night.
The next morning , Uday was out of her sight - all his things were moved into another room. As the weeks went by , Manyata became (to the world) , Mrs UdayVeer Singh. She accompanied him wherever his wife was required to be! She dressed as a married woman and talked as the spouse of one of the most powerful men in the country. Behind closed doors ... well , that was another story - Manveer barely exchanged 2 words with each other.
6 Months passed , and the ice was beginning to melt ... not too much but just enough! Manyata took the first step in extending her hand of friendship to Uday. "Uday - we'll be together for another 18 months ... we should at least be cordial to each other". Uday gratefully accepted her gesture ... {Flashback ends!!!!!!} If I haven't bored you'll to sleep yet ... the please hit the tiny "LIKE" button at the bottom , and leave your precious comments. Their interaction of a few words turned into sentences , sentences became paragraphs and paragraphs turned into long , memorable conversations. Both had become "friends" ... but not in the proper definition of the word. Distances were still maintained and their marriage ... WHAT "MARRIAGE"? The word was out of both their dictionaries! Obviously ... 1 day , it would resurface!
This is THAT day. Manyata moved down stairs in search of Uday. She was in 7th heaven because of Akash's letter and she wanted to share her excitement with him. He was busy with a call , but disconnected as soon as he saw her beautiful smile. "Kya baath hain Princess ... bohot khush lag rahi ho?" "Uday - Akash ka khat aya!", she said while waving his letter in the air.
The dreaded word "AKASH" was back to haunt him. All the colour drained from his face and his initial happiness was replaced by pure anger. Manyata was too ecstatic to notice Uday's condition. She sat down and continued blabbing about how she thought Akash moved on , how he must've forgotten about her. That she's so thrilled about his return.
"Akash , agle hafte anewale hain! Uday , u have to get those divorce papers ready! As soon as Akash comes , I want us to marry! I'm so excited Uday ... I'm so happy!" , she grinned broadly.
"Manyata - leave , I got work to do!" , he scolded.
" Uday - u not going back on your word na ... u will give me the divorce , right?"
" U WILL GET IT ON THE DATE AGREED ON, IN THE CONTRACT!!!!!! Now , will u stop bugging me with these trivialities ... " , he glared at her .
But Manyata was rooted to her seat. Uday's harsh tone unnerved her and it hurt her deeply. Tears started to well up in her eyes ... it was the first time Uday spoke so rudely to her. Seeing Manyata still seated , Uday got up and lifted her by the arm ... " Go now , what are u waiting for?" He forcefully pushed her out of the door and slammed it on her face.
He sat again in his chair as his world was beginning to crumble. His wonderful life with his Princess was coming to an abrupt halt. He was the 1 that made this deal , he can't renege on it now. He promised her ,her freedom after 2 years and in a week , it'll be 2 years. He didn't want to let her go. He always loved her ... and after spending all this time with her - he was positive , they were meant to be together. He couldn't believe that it wasn't going to be so!
Manyata crouched on the bed , crying her heart out. It was not because she doubted Uday's word about the divorce ... it was because he raised his voice at her!
But why did it affect her so much? They had numerous screaming matches before they got married and it never affected her like this! Was she crying now , because Uday reprimanded her or is she crying because she sensed the hurt in his voice and it stung her hard? She was responsible for his pain ; and this, PAINED HER!
Their last week of marriage was a quiet 1. Neither spoke to each other. Manyata began questioning herself , of what she was doing ... whether it was right or wrong. A phone-call from Akash sealed her decision or DID IT?
"I'm coming Moniya ... tomorrow afternoon , I'll be back in Mumbai - WITH YOU! We can marry within the next week. I bought a beautiful wedding outfit for you , can't wait to see u in it! I love you Moniya!!!" " As a reflex , she replied : " I love you 2 Akash" . Uday , who was passing by at the time ... felt his heart crumble once more.
" Manyata , I filed for divorce ... in 4 days time ; it'll be official!" Manyata smiled fakely. By the time the next afternoon came ... Manyata's belongings were shifted back to the Raj-Mahel. Uday had spoken to her family about allowing Manyata to marry Akash , reluctantly they agreed. Uday was to drive Manyata back home , but sensing that she'd want to go to the train-station to receive Akash , Uday bid her farewell from THEIR home.
"Princess - I hope you'll be happy with Akash" , he said. Manyata only nodded. Slowly she moved towards Uday and wrapped her arms around him , and tears of contentment escaped her eyes when she felt his arms around her. She felt safe in his arms ... she felt protected , she felt as if she belonged there! His smell was calming her ... hearing his heart-beat was soothing her. She didn't want to leave him , but had to when he let go.
She , along with 2 body-guards (upon Uday's insistence) waited at the station for Akash's arrival . Even before the train could stop , he alighted and jumped on her , scaring her to death. " Moniya - U look so pretty , prettier than I remember! Can u believe it ... we'll be together soon!" Before Manyata could say anything , Akash took her into his embrace. Manyata was feeling suffocated in his arms, his body was hot and sweaty and she felt uncomfortable. He reeked of perspiration and she felt nauseas .
She needed to wait 4 days for the divorce to be processed ... but why did she secretly hope it would take longer? Why was she dreading this wedding , when she dreamt of it for 2 long years? Why was she constantly moving away from Akash , when he came near her? Why was she not happy? Where did her smile go? Why were her eyes glued to the door everytime a guest arrived for the pre-wedding rituals? Was she expecting someone in particular?
Tomorrow was the big day , DS told her that UdayVeer will be delivering the official documents tomorrow , just before her wedding. Akash overheard it and he jumped with glee. " I can't wait Moniya , I just can't wait ... tomorrow this time ; we'll be MAN & WIFE!" He moved closer to her and Manyata saw that he was going to kiss her ... she pushed him with all her might. " Kya kar rahe ho Akash?"
" Oho , lagta hain meri Moniya sharama rahi hain!" , he teased.
"Akash , mera naam Manyata hain. Tum mujhe Moniya mat kaho , mujhe pasand nahi hain!"
Her words took him aback for moment , but he recovered fast. "I hope tomorrow comes quickly , haina Manyata ". Before she could say anything , he sneakily kissed her cheek and ran away laughing. Disgustedly , she wiped her cheek with her dupatta.
The Raj-mahel was rather quiet , considering a wedding was taking place there. DS chose not to invite any relatives ... she was ashamed that her grand-daughter left YUVRAAJ UDAYVEER SINGH , to be with MR NOBODY. Manyata was feeling suffocated in her room , the walls were closing in on her - FAST! She needed to get out of there ... she needed air.
Her search for the perfect place to calm her nerves , ended at the sea. Yep , it was the beach were she first met Uday. She sat on a rock and stared at the rough sea , the angry waves creating thunderous noises ... bringing an unusual smile to her face. She closed her eyes and relived every moment she ever spent with Uday ... it was finally dawning on her ; what he had come to mean to her!
In a flash she woke up and took a taxi to where her happiness lied. It was just after midnight , and Uday was fast asleep. Having a guest over at such a time , would make anyone furious , and Uday was no different. In an enraged manner he flung open the door ... only to have someone pounce on him. Manyata was literally on top of him , with her lips glued onto his. The 3 minute long kiss broke , only to be followed by a long eye-lock.
Manyata had realised her love for him , she wanted to right the numerous wrongs which she had caused. She wanted to love him tonight ; she wanted him to make her , HIS tonight!
Uday's was in a quandary , he desperately wanted to ask if she was sure about the next step ... but if he did , that would break their moment ... and she would probably leave him ALONE AGAIN. He couldn't risk that , he lifted her in his arms and took her bed ... showering her with his intense love. Her "satisfied" moans was like music to his ears. Both eventually fell asleep in each other's arms.
A call on Uday's cell, woke Manyata. Watching him sleep so peacefully , she didn't have the heart to wake him - she switched the cell off. The time was 7 o'clock. She slipped into his shirt , and took in his scent off the material. It smelt so good ... she loved the way he smelled. She wrapped her arms around herself ... imagining that he was doing it ; and giggled to herself.
Upon finding a page and pen ... she wrote him a message : Hi my love , Good morning. I'm sorry that I have to leave , but it's a big day for me! Everybody will be waiting for me ... and I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU! Come stop my wedding Uday - don't let your Princess go! Last night was the best night of my life. Besides "MAGICAL" , I don't know how to describe it. I love you so much Uday ... I want to spend the rest of my life being YOUR wife. Your jhalli Princess ... Manyata😳. She folded the paper and left it carefully on the pillow she was sleeping on , changed and left for home.
She entered the Raj-Mahel through the back door and got into her room. The scenes from last night replayed in her mind ... and she smiled and hummed to herself. Jainandini , who was passing her room ; heard the melodious humming and misinterpreted it. Standing at the doorway , she put on her "loving sister" act ... "Awww Jiji , seeing u so happy makes me so happy. I'm truly thrilled that u are getting your love today". She held open her arms for her sister and Manyata hugged her.
"Yeah Jai , I know why you're so happy ... but u have no idea how true your words are - I AM getting my love today!" , Manyata thought and gave Jai her broadest , fake smile.
Meanwhile back at Uday-Niwas ... Unnati flung open Uday's door and the wind caused by the door , blew Manyata's letter onto the floor. In a speed Uday awoke , but Manyata was not with him. Instead Unnati was standing at the door, her arms crossed over her chest , and tapping her foot annoyingly.
"Dada - what is this ... you're still sleeping? Lawyer Uncle has phoned u so many times , but you didn't answer him , then he contacted me. Here's your divorce papers!", she handed him the document. Uday was in a state of shock, he began to wonder about last night ... whether Manyata was really there or NOT.
"Dada - get ready fast , you have to deliver these papers to Bhab .. , I mean Manyata." He nodded and proceeded to the bathroom. As he showered , he figured that ;once morning came ... Manyata realised that she had made a huge blunder and left ,to go & get married to Akash. The thought hurt him , irritated him and angered him ; but he composed himself fast ... "I should be grateful for having that 1 night with her!", he consoled himself.
Back at the Raj-Mahel ... Manyata started to panic , she was being taken down to sit with Akash at the mandap - and still there was no sign of Udayveer. "What if he doesn't come? ", she shuddered at the thought.
Uday had taken the papers and left , as Unnati began wondering who her brother was with last night ... as his shirt was on the table and NOT draped over a chair as he usually keeps it. Something glittering caught her eye ... it was an earring ... not just any earring but 1 which she had given Manyata on her birthday last year.
"Oh God !!!!! Dada & BHABHISA!" , she realised , and plopped on the bed. The earring fell from her hand and when she bent to retrieve it ... she found Manyata's note. As she read it , tears filled into her eyes ... but soon started panicking: "Dada doesn't know about THIS ... he's going to deliver divorce papers to her ... I got to stop him!"
She dialled his cell but it was switched off ( Manyata had switched it off earlier that morning). "God - please make everything right for my Dada!" , she pleaded in her prayer.
DS asked the Pandit to wait a few minutes as Uday was to come any moment now. Manyata's heart was beating frantically ... her mind had a hundred thoughts swimming. "Please Bhagwanji , please ", she prayed silently. The moment Uday walked in her heart steadied , while his BROKE seeing her sitting next to Akash.
He held out the papers to Manyata , but she refused to take it from him. "What are u doing Uday? Aren't u stopping this wedding?" , her eyes questioned his. Akash grabbed the papers from Uday and quickly opened a page to read. Once he saw the "OFFICIAL" stamp , he grinned and rudely gestured for Uday to leave.
Without even looking at Manyata he turned to leave , when Manyata's voice stopped him ... " Aren't u forgetting something Uday? "
"And what is that , Manyata?" , he asked without turning back.
"ME!"
He turned back to see her pulling at the knot that tied her to Akash. "Moniya- what are u doing? " "It's MANYATA , Akash" , she corrected even at that time. Uday was dumb-founded with what was happening ... it took him many minutes to register the fact that Manyata was leaving Akash to be with him. Uday held out his arms to Manyata as she freed herself from that tight knot that Jai had tied between them.
Akash gripped her arm , just as she was ready to leap into Uday's arms. "You'll are DIVORCED Manyata! ", Akash announced and waved the official papers in her face. In a swift motion , she grabbed the papers and dunked it in the fire from the hawan ... leaving Akash wide-eyed and open-mouthed.
She jumped into Uday's outstretched arms and hugged him as tight as she could while DS, Komal , Brijraj smiled happily and Jai crumbled to the floor, realising that she lost Uday all over again ... and this time , it was FOR GOOD!
Uday carried Manyata from the mandap to his car ... "Why didn't u stop the wedding Uday?", Manyata scolded.
"I didn't know U WANTED ME TO" , Uday replied innocently.
"I left u a note!"
"I didn't get a note!"
"Halkat , vede , yede ... even if u didn't get a note ; what did u think last night was : A 1-NIGHT STAND?"
Uday raised his eye-brows to her , and she continued : "U know I always understand things LATE ... but I've realised that I love YOU , I want to spend the rest of my life with YOU ... & ONLY YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TOUCH ME ... Haan nai toh!
