Should gifted pupils get extra investment?😕😕😕
The brightest 800,000 pupils in England will receive vouchers to spend on extra lessons in a new government scheme.😃From September, primary and secondary schools will be required to list their gifted and talented pupils so that each one can get about 80 worth of "e-credits".😉
Children can choose to spend the credits on tuition from companies, independent schools and universities.😊
The government is targeting children whose parents can't or won't pay for extra lessons in their goal to double the number of pupils on the gifted and talented register (currently 400,000 or about 5%).😛
😳Is it fair to spend extra money on bright children? Will clever pupils flourish anyway? Would the money be better invested on pupils getting lower grades?😕😳😕
