Hey guys,

Do you think actors are getting more attention and more so,a lot more credit than they deserve❓

As an example, are stars like Shahrukh Khan, just by starring in a movie, hogging all the limelight instead of giving credit to the whole package??

Sometimes yes. Sometimes the critics and the audience in general gives the whole credit to the directors without noticing the actors and visa-versa. And its bound to happen if a certain director or a actor is more popular. In these kinds of cases the directors or the actors or not to be blamed. Instead ppl who do dis shud be blamed.

When there is no storyline worth mentioning, people like to see ATLEAST good looks on the screen..then yes..
prime example: Dhoom2

if the movie is good, the director gets credit...

I have always believed the success of dil chahta hain belongs to farhan akhtar.. the success of all mani ratnam movies primarily belongs to him...

the sculptor deserves credit for his work of art and not the other way around...
but yes some works of art may get popular for what it depicted..

Even critics these days talk more about the acting rather than commenting on the whole package

I think the actors are getting bigger then the movie. I think in indian cinema, the movie itself holds very little importance. No matter how good the movie is, if it doesnt have a huge actor like SRK or Rani in it. Or isnt directed by or Chopra or Johar, it rarely gets credit.

There is a new formula in the Bollywood film industry,

+ + =

The viewing public is to blame for turning actors into larger than life stars. Given that why wouldn't they take the full credit for the success of a film.

I think actors are bigger than movies. Its the actors who give life to the lines and to the script. But I think it ought to be the other way round. If people are watching movies for the stars and not for the storyline, that just means that we have a derth of strong and good story lines.
