SS : Muse of Fire

Chapter One

3 Years Ago
She woke up with a jerk but struggled to open her eyes. With all the power she had, she opened her lids a bit. A dim light hit her eyes and she groaned in pain as a stinging pain shot through her head. "Argh!"

She tried to clasp her head but damn, her wrists were bound together. She forced her eyes open and found herself in a dirty corner bathed in a yellow light bulb that hung loose from the ceiling. What was she doing here? The last thing she remembered was getting out of the club.

The room she was being held was really really dirty. She sniffed, disgusted. Then she saw a man entering the room. She quickly closed her eyes and pretended to be unconscious.

The man walked up to the table set on her opposite and she caught a glimpse of his face; hell, he was scary!

He was in his late 40, she noticed but the scariest was his face. The man had a huge cut on his face. Starting from his left temple, then his right eyebrow, right cheek and right upper lip..ending on the right side of his jaw. A perfect shape of a S. She started to shiver as he methodically laid out his tools..
A scalpel, a set of knives, a red box and god knows what else.

She didn't have to be a genius to figure out what he was and what he was about to do to her. She was gonna die. She was sure of it. But thanks to the human nature, it fought for a way out. To survive.

She looked at the door he had just walked through and thank the mother mary, it was still open. She unsteadily tried to stand and managed given she was cheerleader. She took a step towards the door..silently. But luck betrayed her as the wooden ground cracked.

She freezed as the man turned towards her and took a moment before charging towards her. Her feet worked on its own as she raced up the stair.Before she could even take two stairs, her ankle was caught and the man dragged her into the room. The man pulled on her shoulder and it popped like soda can, making her howl in pain.

"Khubsurat" the man groaned, tracing his fingers on her face and then they traveled down her body. Oh God! She trembled. Save me!

The man forced himself upon her, nailing her down on the ground. The ground cracked again, so did her wrists and all the parts he touched.Her screams went to no avail as he callously pounded onto her. For once in her life, she wished she had listened to her sister and be strong like her. Tears threatened to come but she stayed put. She would die like a strong soldier like her sister believed she was.

Angana's life ended on an image flashing in front of her face.. her sister and she laughing..her breath choked as she felt a knife biting into her flesh on the left side of her chest and dividing the flesh into two.And everything went black.

Present

One fine afternoon! Well, it was gonna get better, she mused as she walked into the den with just a .45 revolver in her hand.
"Hello boys."

As soon as she had made her entry, 5 son of biscuits rose from whatever they were doing AKA drinking..drinking and drinking; and charged towards her.

She grinned, putting her gun back in her back pocket. Now that's what she needed. A good fight!
When the first blow came to her face she slid on a side only to butt kick the idiot. Another fist came to her way and she grabbed him by the wrist and trashed him to another attack. Rage shot through her vein. She managed to knock them out and piled them up in a corner with just a bruised knuckle and a red mark on her left cheek.

She shrugged her hands and looked at the dirt of a human species in disgust. Her hand was twitching to put all the bullets she had on them. But ah well, that'd be a waste. They wouldn't be able to use their filthy hands to hurt any innocent girl anymore, she made sure of that.

She straightened her black jacket and turned to the doors as other officers were making their entries.. Now. They stared at her and then back to the trashed-up-boys pile she had made and gulped. One of them opened his mouth to say something but one crooked eye-brows from her and he fell quiet.

She fished out her Ray-bans and get out of the place. She nodded as officers greeted her. Her long strides were cut in short as her phone started to ring. Damn that thing.

She frowned at the caller and picked it up anyway. "Jai hind, Captain.. Yes. I did what I had to. I don't need help..." She controlled herself from growling. "Okay." With that she cut the call.
Damn these meetings.

Mumbai Police Department Precinct BuildingBullpen

"Why do we need to work with ETF?" She asked in a really dangerous tone. "I'm sure I..umm, we can handle it just fine." She finished.
"A multinational special crimes task force is necessary." The Captain said."Besides ETF was and is a part of Special Crimes Task Force.. just like Serious Crimes Unit."
"Great! We have a joint task force now." She murmured under her breath.
"A joint task force to hunt down 'the scarred'." Captain finished.

ETF Headquarters

"And what they want? Tips from us?" Arjun asked, annoyed. Rathod rolled his eyes at his tone as commissioner continued speaking in his calm voice.

"We need their help. She is a brilliant officer and I promise, she'll be a great help. Humhe uski jarurat hai."

She.. Oh yeah, another liability he needed, Arjun groaned in his mind.
"Woh kab join kar rahi hai?" Rathod asked."Kal."
As soon as commissioner had left Rathod hissed, "be good to her Rawte."
"Can't make any promises." was Arjun's reply.

Bullpen

"Now guys, lets meet your field commander for "The scarred" case and our new head of Special Crimes Task Force." Captain addressed to the dozens of agents and specialists from around the world who were chosen in the team..including her.

"CBI "Serious Crimes Unit" leader Agent Ayaana Shroff."

Oh sweet jesus!

She stood up as others started clapping.
Crap.

After the congratulations phase was gone, she found herself discussing the last case of "The Scarred" with other specialist. After 2 years of exile, "the scarred" was back!

And this time, she will make sure that he pays for every sick thing he had done in his life.

She promised on her life.

Captain had warned her to be good with ETF and keep calm with this case. Knowing her well, the captain knew she would get her fuse blown along with others.

"Sorry captain! Can't make any promises." was her reply.

Captain cursed under his breath. She was as stubborn as he was.

Arjun Rawte.

If she was a tornado, than he was no less than a volcano.

Only God knows how the hell these two would work together.
