Singer Udit Narayan gained attention last year due to a viral video showing him kissing female fans at his concerts. Now, he's back in the news for a different reason. His first wife, Ranjana Jha, has filed a complaint against him. She alleges that the singer had her uterus removed without her consent, claiming it was for medical treatment.

Ranjana files a police complaint

According to an NDTV report, Ranjana filed a complaint at the Women's Police Station in Supaul, Bihar. She not only accused Udit Narayan but also implicated his two brothers and his second wife in criminal offenses.

On Tuesday, Ranjana, accompanied by her lawyer Karunakant Jha, filed a complaint at the police station. The complaint alleged that her uterus was removed without her consent, a fact she discovered much later during medical treatment. She has accused Udit Narayan, his two brothers, and his second wife of criminal offenses.

What exactly Ranjana said in her complaint

Ranjana's complaint details her marriage to Udit on December 7, 1984, following Hindu traditions. In 1985, Udit moved to Mumbai to pursue his singing career. She later learned of his second marriage to Deepa Narayan through media reports. According to her statement, whenever she confronted Udit about this, he provided misleading answers.

In her complaint, the singer's first wife alleged that she was taken to a major hospital in Delhi in 1996 under the guise of medical treatment, where her uterus was removed without her consent. She stated that Udit, along with his brothers Sanjay Kumar Jha and Lalit Narayan Jha, took her to the hospital, and Deepa was also present.

While talking to the media, Ranjana said, "You all know that Udit Narayan ji repeatedly makes promises but does not fulfil them. He has not done anything till now, which is why I have come to the Women's Police Station. I deserve justice."

"When we went to the Women's Commission, they initially refused to accept our complaint. After we submitted a written application, it was accepted. But even today, he continues to deceive me. Whenever he comes to the village, he makes the same promises again," she added.

Udit Narayan’s statement still awaited

Ranjana further stated that she has been in poor health and requires Udit's support, which he has not provided. She also mentioned that the singer visited the village, made promises, and then left.

Anju Tiwari, the officer-in-charge of the Women's Police Station, confirmed that the matter is under investigation, considering the complaint's details date back approximately 30 years. An FIR will be filed once the facts are verified, and appropriate action will follow. Udit Narayan has not yet issued a statement regarding his first wife's complaint.
