Recap: Meera reaches the House within time. She reminds Ammaji of her promise to grant her her wish. Ammaji tells her that she will grant Meera her wish after she recites Ram-Sita katha. Meera agrees to it, after the recital is over, she asks Ammaji for her wish – to get Shan and Alaka married. Everybody is stunned. But meera reminds AMmaji that Ammaji had never backed away from any of her promises. Ammaji is about to agree to her wish when their Kulpurohit tells Ammaji that since the wish had been made after recital of the Katha, the auspicious time for the setting up of Shri Ram and Sitaji's idols in the house is over. Ammaji tells a stunned Meera that after this day, there will be no promises for granting of wishes in the house. while all this is happening in the hall, SUli rushes to Alaka, who's in her room, and asks her to control her daughter. Alaka rushes down to the hall and slaps Meera very hard.
Today's episode : Ira is recounting to Suli and Raj how she had fooled Meera during the entire happening. Raj applauds her for her effort and says that Ira should have been in Mumbai instead of Benaras and she would surely have landed roles for herself in the film industry on lines of the roles essayed by Lalita Pawar, Shahshikala and others. Ira is not happy and shoos him away from the room. She then tells Suli that the entire idea of fooling Meera in this fashion was actually masterminded by Ammaji and it was due to her planning, that Meera had not been able to get away with her wish. Suli is surprised.
In the hall, Shan is standing all alone when Yash comes downstairs and tells Shan to try and control the situation. And that instead of getting involved in family matters again, he should concentrate on business once again. At that moment, Ammaji comes to meet Yash and requests to meet him alone. Shan is surprised and asks Ammaji whether she is angry with him or not. Ammaji tells him that it is so because he has stopped thinking about the family at large, and is only concerned about his personal issues. After Shan leaves, Ammaji tells something to Shan in confidence and then goes away.
Inside Alaka's room, Meera is trying to get Alaka to speak to her again after the incident. Alaka tells her that she isn't interested in speaking to Meera cause she had broken her promise. Meera replies in the affirmative but tells her that she broke the promise due to a good cause. But today in fact her belief and trust had been broken, by none other than Ammaji, who had masterminded everything to stop Meera from asking for her wish. Alaka is surprised to learn about this. Meera further says that all these had been done in the name of Lord Ram and he had been a quite witness to the entire faade. Even Meera's Lord Krishna had let her down. And now its time for God to mete out justice in the same house.
Meera then goes to the Ghats and sits down with a peacock feather in her hand. She says to Lord Krishna that since her childhood, the peacock feather was the main link between Lord Krishna and herself and that she had always carried it with her and kept it close to her to feel her nearness to Lord Krishna. But today during the hour of crisis, Krishna had neglected her and so she was severing all ties with him. She is about to immerse the peacock feather in the Ganga, when she heard the voice of a Sadhu, who was extolling the virtues of Lord Krishna to a handful of followers. The Sadhu told the gathering that Lord Krishna resides in our heart and it isn't easy to detach ourselves from him. He has always advocated the philosophy of meeting every challenge with equanimity, a smile in the face and fierce determination to strike back, and in hours of crises, one shouldn't turn away from the battle field. In fact, this is the crux of the entire conversation he had with Arjuna in the battle fields in Mahabharata.
Meera goes back to the house, straight to the Puja room. She picks up the idol of Lord Ram and takes it to her room, unheeding of Shlok's request not to do so. Once inside her room, she places the idol on the same table on which Lord Krishna is placed and then shuts the door. The entire house assembles in front of the inner window to her room to find out what she's upto. Meera takes amole quantities of camphor and places sufficient amounts of the same on her palms and then sets fire to the camphor and moves her hand in front of the idols as in performing aarti. Ammaji rushes to speak to Meera who tells Ammaji that she had lied to Meera about granting her the wish and had in fact committed crime by partaking in the vile act conducted by Ira to prevent Meera from reaching the house well within time, and as such is responsible for this state of affairs. Alaka comes rushing in to dissuade Meera from doing so but she fails. Meera is obstinate in her demand.
Ammaji comes down to the hall and Shan comes running after her. He requests her to save Meera by agreeing to her demand. This surprises Ammaji cause Shan's request would mean that he was actually agreeing with Meera on her request to allow Shan and Alaka to marry. Shan keeps quiet and Ammaji tells him that although he hasn't answered, his silence has spoken volumes. She then returns back to Meera's room where everybody is assembled, and calls out to Meera from the window, saying that she is ready to agree to her request and grant Meera her wish. Everybody is surprised, including Alaka.
Serious blooper: This is the first major blooper that I have noticed in SS. While Meera was trying to immolate herself in the room, and everybody in the house was assembled there, how come no one tried to break inside the room and out off the fire? There were 5 or 6 able bodied men present at that moment – Shan, Raj, Shlok, Abhi, and house servant. And yet none of them could see the fortitude of saving the girl from the situation which could have rapidly turned into something disastrous.
