The episode was not cheap it highlighted the cheap mindset of certain people namely those boys who attacked Sanchi and tried to molest her.

The guys who did that have regressive mind set who chose this way to settle scores with Sanchi who they think as someone who insulted them. When in reality she just rebuffed them and their advances which was fully with in her rights to do so if she didn't like them.
They did not like the fact that a woman did not welcome their advances and told them so.
These are the guys who did not respect women and disregard the fact that women do have rights.
These are the cheapos and the episode highlighted their cheapness.

As for Shekhars I don't think they were careless. They have given their daughter certain amount of freedom because they trust her. They know where she had gone to and they expect her to comeback by a certain time.Yes she did break a rule set by them - that is wearing a dress which they do not approve of.

Alok was very within his rights for ticking her off for wearing that dress.Alok happens to be her father. All responsible fathers do have a lot of say when it comes to how their daughters should dress. It happens everywhere in the world not just in India.Because them being males and they know how a male mind works and they impose restrictions because they love their daughters and are protective about them.

As for men reacting to the sight of a woman in short dress they all react in the same way but it is their character and upbringing that decides how they behave with women.

This episode despite all it's flaws had a strong message it gave the insight into the minds of males who attack women.

The conversation between Jagya and Sanchi did give a social message about how women feel when they are attacked like this and it was also a message to all those youngsters who crib about restrictions imposed by parents are not placed to curtail their happiness but put in place keeping in the safety of their children in mind.

@Aparnauma

I think most of you are ignoring things I tried to point out.

I only said that we didn't need close up of her strap being removed! And those dialogues? We didn't need them.

This is the third time I felt BV had gone cheap, ignoring limits of a prime time family show - after attempt to rape Anandi and Gulli's sexual harassment on streets (remember those vulgar comments about oranges?!).

They took up issue of marital rape also but never showed cheap dialogues or any scene between Gehna and Basant. They chose that obvious/suggestive route without being direct. That was better.

This is not Crime Patrol or Sansani. This is still a daily soap and even if they take up issues they should try not to show the cheapness.

I disagree about Alok being a responsible father. Nope. He once himself said he did nothing except giving pocket money to Sanchi. And it's evident in his behaviour. The talk that Jagya gave to Sanchi should've been given to her by her parents. Also, parents get worried for daughters if they are not at home post sunset. Here it was dark and still Shekhars had no concern?! Glutton Alok was eating icecream?
Even before Sanchi had gone he had not asked her where she was going, with whom she was going or by what time she would return. These are normal questions that dads ask. Alok didn't do any of this.

This is not giving freedom. This is carelessness.

What's the point of shouting at her now? He himself is a failure as a father. Irresponsible man who thinks giving money is the only thing he needs to do for his kids!

I have often noticed he ignores Sanchi, never guides her but is only quick to scold her if she falters. That's hypocrisy.

Now we got what you are trying - You did not like they way the scenes was executed and filmed but not with the content.
If you are criticising the technical aspects like dialogues and the way it was shot you should have mentioned that. Then we would have gotten your point.
If you meant to say that the scene was too graphic in nature then may be it is true but these are kind of scenes that are meant to repulse the viewers and abhor the act the ones who are involved in committing that act.
They are trying to give the audience an insight into the minds of these people and show their thinking process and the content of their gutter minds. The only way they can show their thought process is through dialogues. It would have been repulsive if the college principle said those words to Sanchi but they were said by the molesters.

As for Alok Shekhar and rest of the Shekhars let's agree to disagree on that.I didn't find his behaviour out of place today. They have Shivraj Shekhar and Mahi to prove that they have not done a bad job in parenting. It's not unusual for family to have a kid who is different from the rest.

As for Alok saying that he only gave pocket money and did not have much of role in raising children I will not take it in literal sense.Even my parents used to say that about me and my siblings that they did not have a hand in shaping our lives when we were growing up but we knew it was not so.

To continue with what I said about the close up shot of the attack and the fellow trying to lower the strap.
There was lot more happening in that shot apart from the fellow trying to disrobe her. There was a hand clamping her mouth so as to prevent her from making noise.

Sanchi had only one hand free she had a choice to prevent the fellow from disrobing her or remove the hand that was clamping her mouth shut.

She very wisely used the hand to make herself free from the hand that was gagging her mouth so that she could yell out for help.If she chose touse her free hand to prevent that guy she would not have been successful.

So that shot was not cheap at all.It was telling how to call out for help.

TM and Appu you both are right. Thank God I didn't watch but reading it understood. Both of u r right. As per TM, showing the stripe with cheap dialogues were not right but at the same time India needs awareness in the society.

I was also the youngest and only girl child of a joint family. My father, uncle and grandfather never said anything to me but I was scared of my mom and all brothers but that doesn't mean that my father was not involve in my upbringing. Wo toh unke kahne ka style hota thaa ki maine hee bigada hai iss ladki ko.

2nd thing Udaypur is still not that big city like Mumbai or Delhi. I think its equal to Raipur where almost everyone knows who is who, Don't you think boys at Sanchi's school knew that she is Udaypur';s Collector's sister? That is too much...😆
