Too much sensation, little message

This is cheap!!

Isko iski jagah dikhani hai was ghatiya dialogue! (Dirty mind boys think best way to put a girl in "her place" is to rape her! And by resorting to this cliche you're furthering this mentality!)

And close up of boy pulling Sanchi's dress' strap? Cheap!! Was there need to show? (It was another cheap moment after that scene in which Heth Singh's henchmen try to rape Anandi!)

So to make a guy hero, you put a girl at risk of rape (cliche). Fine.

But this jagah dikhani hai and all is bullshit! Shameful!

Sanchi only spurned those boys. What "beizzati" was this?

Iske kapde dekhiye, "doctor tumhara kaam nipat gaya hoga iske saath" - what dirty dialogues! We needed this in a family show? 🤢

Those boys were filthy in their act and their words! 😡

I appreciate Jagya defending her when Sunny barked about the dress. But still it was all shameless and regressive (the sequence).

I know reality is worse. But BV being a show with a message should have had some responsiility in dialogues and scenes. You have 99% cliche and stereotype and only 1% of sense in content you showed!

Sanchi's comment in car - galti meri hai, aise kapde pehna matlab badhawa dena and all was hypocrisy. She did wear that dress to attract attention that is another matter she got wrong guy's attention.

Jagya's pep talk to her about clothes was fine and well written.

Shekhars are such a faltu and careless family! They were enjoying dessert and it was night! Daughter was still not at home and they had NO concern? Eating icecream and laughing?!!! This is not giving freedom. This is utter carelessness!
And who is Alok to shout at Sanchi for wearing that dress? He never taught her rules of safety or dressing (lecture that Jagya gave to Sanchi should have been given to her by parents or brothers). He never bothered to know where she was going, with whom she was going and what time she'd return. He was eating & carelessly idling away even as daughter hadn't returned till late!

Now he has nerve to bark at her? Sorry mister! You're a failure as a father! You didn't guide her or give her right attention. You only focused on filling her purse with pocket money. You think that's where duty of father stops? Before shouting at her look at yourself!

Frustrating episode, with some very cheap dialogues by that rapist boy, stereotypes and BS except for some nice talk by Jagya to Sanchi.

i don' think this was so bad...family show does not mean everything should be super clean...it means creating awreness among family members and mostly BV is watched either was teenagers who can maturely handle such stuff or elders so nothing wrong in what they showed...if one can go and watch munni and sheila than here such scenes are shown to create awreness
what saanchi said about baradawa dena was not what CVs were highlighting...they were showing how in such incident most of time girls blame themselves and jagya's reply was for us to know how to calm them
normally whenever they give social message first they have to show the negativity to highlight what is wrong and than the result is answer to such negativities of our society...i think it was good episode and marked upto Bv standard...alok's reaction is something happens in both modern and orthodox family...my cousin's father listens to english songs and tells us to not watch hindi movies and serial but their mind is super backward...they cannot even bear to see their girls talking on phone with boys
saanchi had gone to her college function and she is 20-21 yrs old so parents must have thought nothing is wrong...parents normally consider school/colleges a safe place...when i used to go to such parties in my school the most my parents would do is call me and ask me when to pick up...i don't think it was that late since the party was in full swing and whole Shekhars knew where Saanchi had went since she had already told them
what CVs are showing is how normally parents, victim and society react to such issues and how they should really behave is what they are trying to tell us

@Libsrocks

I agree with you. But still I wish the close-up of her strap being removed hadn't been shown. I mean they could've kept it at "distant yet obvious". Why close up and focus?!!

And that boy's dialogues were too cheap.

Lot of cliches and stereotypes were resorted to.

I know message about violence against women is need of the hour. But BV should've avoided the sensationalism.

Jagya was the only one whose actions and words made sense today and were balanced. Nothing regressive.

I dont understand your point... which guy is made to look hero?

And why cant shekhars enjoy desert? Their daughter had told them where she was going.. so why should they worry?

The whole episode was nice... the dialogues were cheap because those using them were cheap boys. They should have been school dropouts, not MBA students. nevertheless their mentality was cheap, so they used cheap dialogues.

Useless fathers like Alok do exist in real world also. So the whole episode was nice and worth watching.

Skepblun, even if I don't watch BV anymore, after reading your post I completely agree with you. I'm not from India, but I know a lot about it, after all I read the news and know what's going on and that the position of women in some parts of the country really is unenviable. BV showed to us a true and different India that we didn't know so good and made it closer to all of us. Through way of life, customs and emotions they showed us that there is a prolem in society, but in a subtle and smooth way. Now the BV went in a new direction, which is based on the current problems in society so they could say that series still has very high quality. Unfortunately, it is not. It is fully collapsed its charm and uniqueness. Turned into reality show. Now it's only left to audience start to vote on future events in this series.

The episode was not cheap, it was actually very well done. Not forcing anyone as hero, Jagya came with the other friends and balanced situation very calm and wise... Both Roop and Shashank made scene realistic and effective... and as u said convo in a car was very nice... and at the end Sanchi was not attacked koz of the short dress, even if she stayed in that long skirt the same thing would happn. only difference now Sunny can blame her dress, and the others can blame her styling but that didn caused the problem...

I would not blame Shekars , they knew Sanci is in a good company with her friends and Jagya at school party, even if they were worried like every parent there was no reason to show it. its not like they went to sleep and forgot about Sanchi... they were awake waiting for her...
