Hey folks 😳
Here's another ArHi-converted-AsYa OS. Actually I still haven't caught up on the show (I'm on Episode 121 I think...😛 ) So yeah, I converted this some time back when I heard from this forum that Asad wasn't trusting Zoya about Tanveer. So I converted this one and now that I'm finally posting it, I found out that he has started trusting her. Ufff life can be so complicated at times 😆
So anyway since I had this already written down, I thought I might as well post it since I'm on a posting spree 😆 And yeah, this was my first piece of writing ever😳 It's in 3 parts and I'm posting them all together cos it's cruel to keep you guys waiting for no reason. Yes, I like to think that you guys actually wait for my work 😆😆 Anyway here you go.
AsYa OS: An Ocean Of Regret
He couldn't believe it. He just couldn't believe that this was actually happening to him.
His head throbbed in a sickening way and his breathing was labored from the restless pacing of the corridor since the last hour. He glanced through the small circular window of the emergency ward yet again as he strode by.
His wife' His Zoya looked so fragile, lying there with needles poking her skin and an oxygen mask hiding her beautiful face. There was complete silence except for the eerie beeping sound of the heart monitoring machine. He felt his lungs constrict at the sight and couldn't breathe properly. No matter how much he tried gulping air, it just wasn't enough and his breathing got more ragged as his head started spinning. He just couldn't stand and watch her in this state so he returned to his relentless threading of the corridor...
He just couldn't believe himself. How could he have not trusted Zoya? He had taken the word of his deceitful friend over his own wife?! How could he have done something so ridiculous?
His brain felt numbed. He couldn't think properly and his legs ached but he continued his pacing in a robotic manner. His posture was slumped, defeated. He was no longer the arrogant Asad Ahmed Khan who was proud of making his own destiny. He was a man who was almost losing everything at the hands of fate. His Zoya was lying in the ICU and he couldn't do anything.
He let out a tortured cry as he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. It should have been him lying there. He deserved it, not Zoya. His jaw clenched and his hands balled into fists by his sides as the events from a couple of hours ago raced through his mind yet again...
*Flashback*
He had never thought that the woman, whom he claimed to be his best friend, would sink to this extent. He tried not to show his fear as Tanveer raised the revolver towards his heart which thumped at a neck-breaking speed.
The only thing on his mind was Zoya. She was innocent. She had been telling the truth all along but he had never believed her. He had not even given her the benefit of the doubt.
"Tonight you're going to die Asad." Tanveer whispered, breaking into his thoughts, her eyes wild, "I hope you will forgive me because my intent was not killing you. No, I wanted to marry you. I wanted to be your wife. I wanted your name, your wealth and the dignity that would come by marrying you. But that Zoya' That Zoya snatched everything from me. And now I will snatch everything from her. By killing you," Her stone eye bore into his face menacingly.
"Don't you see the brilliancy of my plan, Asad?" She gloated happily. "Zoya loves you so deeply that when I will kill you, she would be devastated. Her world would be lost. She would become a living corpse. Your death will come as a huge blow and it will sweep her off her feet and when Zoya's life will be ruined, I will celebrate my victory."
"What do you have against Zoya?" Asad found himself whispering in a hoarse voice. His body trembled with hatred for this woman, whom once he called his best friend.
"Oh I had nothing against Zoya. I just wanted you," She shrugged simply. "But when I saw that your were getting married to her instead of me, that seeded the enmity between us. I tried to kill her so many times but she has even more lives than the nine proverbial lives of a cat! She was saved every time' But all that doesn't matter now, she got married to you. She snatched what was mine and now she has to pay. Killing you would be the greatest revenge I can take on her. And let's just say that if I don't get you, then no one does. Simple."
"If you lay one finger on Zoya'" Asad found himself gritting out between clenched teeth but Tanveer cut him off.
"Asad! Were you even listening to a single word I said? I told you that your death is my revenge on her. The news of your death will break her fully. It will shatter her from the inside. She will never be able to stand again. I will kill her from the inside and physically, I won't even need to lay a finger on her."
A sinister smile lit her face. Asad was amazed how he could have been deceived to such an extent.
"Okay, enough of this chit-chatting between two old buddies. Time to die now," She looked almost demented as she tilted her head and his finger inched towards the trigger.
Asad closed his eyes and as always Zoya's smiling face was instantly painted on the back of his closed eye lids. He smiled slightly at the image and sent a silent prayer to the Almighty to always keep her smiling like that.
There was the bang of the revolver being shot but he didn't hear that as he heard a most familiar voice cry out, "Asaddd!!"
Zoya? Was she here? He opened his eyes to find Zoya standing right in front of him, her expression shocked and her huge brown eyes still and wide, quickly filling with tears.
"Asad" She whispered before going totally limp and slumping towards the floor. He caught her before she could hit the ground, confused and a little terrified at what had happened to her.
He heard Tanveer let out a demented cry and curse Zoya loudly. And that was when Asad saw blood slowly staining Zoya's shirt as it oozed from the open wound on her stomach and he felt as if his heart had stopped beating'
*End of Flashback*
He had no idea how Zoya had found him and managed to save his life. He didn't even register properly as the police handcuffed a screaming and kicking Tanveer. The world around him was a blur as he had rushed her to the hospital and there the doctor had told him in grave tones that she had lost a lot of blood and needed to be operated right away. He hadn't been able to sit down since then and had been pacing the corridor while his family quietly cried hugging each other, too shocked by the turn of events to say anything to him.
The doctor came out then and the family crowded around him expectantly, "How's my Zoya, doctor?" Asad managed to choke out, trying to ignore the tension clawing at the insides of his stomach.
"The operation was successful, she's out of danger now", the doctor said reassuringly, smiling at him. Asad let go of the breath he didn't even realize he was holding and slumped to the hospital chair, suddenly too exhausted to stand, trying to grasp the good news. His Zoya was going to be fine!

"Zoya is awake, Bhaijan. The doctor said we can meet her now. Come," Najma whispered softly after a few hours tugging at Asad's arm gently.
"You guys go inside, I'm coming", He replied giving his sister a little smile and a gentle pat on her cheek.
He waited until everyone had disappeared into Zoya's room and then got up to leave. He wasn't ready to face her and he knew that he didn't even deserve to show his face in front of that angel. She had supported him on every path without questioning and all he had given her in return was disbelief, denial and distrust. And because of him, she was in the state that she was today. All because of him. He had never felt so much hatred for himself before.
'No Zoya, you don't deserve me! You deserve someone much better. I don't even deserve to face you after what I put you through.' He thought as he made his way out of the entrance of the hospital. He practically forced his feet to move towards his car. On reaching it, he slumped heavily against the hood and threw his head back. He looked toward the heaven and whispered.
'Thank You. Thank you so much for giving my life a chance to live again.'
