Gautam and his family enter Poonam's house and are warmly welcomed by her parents. Akash is present too, and Gautam's father asks him to leave as he wants to discuss something confidential. Poonam's bhabhi is introduced to the rest of the family, and Gautam's father says something rather cheap about the apology that they're here for, and his wife shuts him up. Gautam's mother apologises for not knowing anything about the no-dowry that was discussed earlier, and Gautam apologises on behalf of his family. Poonam's father is impressed and forgives the family and invites the family to have a seat. Poonam's mother goes off to get the sharbat for Gautam's family, while Gautam excuses himself to go talk to Poonam, much to his family's displeasure.
Poonam is standing outside with a worried look on her face when Gautam joins her. She thanks him for what all he's done, and says that he's a really good person. She then tells him what was going on her mind, that the first time when his rishta came to her, she wanted to apologise but she ended up saying yes so as not to disappoint her father. Gautam is rather shocked on listening to it. Poonam then continues that at this point however, she's proud of her and her father's decision, and even Gautam thanks her for elevating his position to this extent. He then thanks her, and also says that he has something to come clean with her. He apologises for the topic of dowry that his parents were trying to talk about, and holds her hands in his own. Akash sees them, and also sees them hug, which leaves him hurt.
In Akash's house, it is clear that there is another prospective alliance for Prarthna. They ask to see Prarthna, when her parents ask them to come aside and talk to them privately.
While they're in a separate room about to talk, Akash's mother notices her DIL trying to eavesdrop from the door, and goes over to close the door. The conversation between the prospective alliance's parents and Akash's parents is muted, so the audience has no idea about what happens. The two families seem rather happy after the conversation. When they come out, they see Akash's bhabhi trying to eavesdrop but they walk off. Akash's mother gives a piece of mind to her DIL before she leaves.
The prospective groom's parents look very happy as they go back downstairs and sit with the family, and Prarthna is brought down. It is clear that the prospective groom doesn't like Prarthna, but his mother holds his hand and asks him not to make a face at her. His parents sing praises of her, and give her shagun and affirm the new relationship, much to everyone's happiness, except the groom's and Akash's bhabhi. They decide to get the engagement and wedding dates fixed ASAP.
Gautam's brother is complaining to his parents about them apologising regarding the dowry matter. His father screams that he had no choice to but to listen to him as he's the sole breadwinner of the house. Gautam's mother tries to defend him and blames the jeans waali heroine. Gautam's brother and father are really pissed, and promise to teach Poonam and her family a lesson regarding this.
Prarthna's mother is walking alone in her house and thinking to herself as she bumps into her MIL who invites her to participate in a reading of the Ramayan. She then congratulates and blesses her for trying so hard and finally getting Prarthna married. She is in a dilemma as to whether or not to tell the truth to her MIL.
Poonam's father is happy that the matter is solved and that they've gotten a good SIL for themselves. Poonam's mother comes and informs them that the next day is Poonam's haldi and that the haldi will come over from Gautam's side. Akash, who's present, gets a call from Dadi who tells him about Prarthna's fixed alliance. He comes back and relays the good news to Poonam and her family, and they are very happy for him and his family as well. Poonam goes up to Akash and holds out her hand in a handshake to congratulate him, which leaves Akash stumped, but he takes it and smiles, albeit painfully.
Precap: Gautam's mother mixes something in the haldi that is to be sent over to Poonam's, and his brother takes it over. Poonam's family welcomes him warmly during the proceedings.
