Fox Star Studios has announced its partnership with Phantom Films to produce Anurag Kashyap's next film, Bombay Velvet. The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, will go on floors in July 2013 and is slated for a worldwide release on 25th Dec 2014.
The first film of a trilogy, as planned by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet is the story of how the city became a Metropolis, set against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and Jazz.
Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, come together to share screen space as lovers whose lives intermingle with the evolution of the city of Bombay, through the 50s to early 70s.

An excited Anurag Kashyap says, "Bombay Velvet is my first film in a trilogy about Bombay, before it became a Metropolis. It's a story that has always fascinated me and we have been developing it for about four years, and I am very excited that now its fully ready and we begin shoot this year."

Amit Trivedi has already started work to compose the music of the film, which will be reminiscent of the golden sound of 60's.
