Ranveer Singh’s gritty crime thriller Dhurandhar has barely settled into theatres, and the buzz has already shifted to its sequel. As the credits rolled for the first instalment, audiences were met with an unexpected tease: a bold message reading revenge continues, followed by an official release date:19 March 2026. With that one moment, Dhurandhar Part 2 went from speculation to reality.

A Post-Credits Surprise and Early Confirmation

The surprise post-credits reveal wasn’t the only confirmation. Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi, who plays an impactful character in the film, shared in a recent interview that the second instalment is not only happening, it’s already complete.

He said his role grows significantly in the next chapter and hinted that his character draws inspiration from a real political figure from Pakistan. According to him, Part 2 is deep in post-production and only months away from being ready.

A Rocky Path to Release

Before fans could even process the sequel news, Dhurandhar’s journey to theatres made headlines for other reasons. The Central Board of Film Certification cleared the film earlier this week after a re-examination. The controversy began when the family of late Major Mohit Sharma requested the film be halted, believing it mirrored his life. The CBFC later stated that no connection existed between the storyline and the officer’s life.

The final certification also revealed the premise, putting speculation to rest. Set in Lyari, Pakistan, the film explores the violent rise and chaos of gang culture in the early 2000s. With real-life figures like gangster Rehman Dakait and Karachi’s powerful SP Chaudhary Aslam featured onscreen, Dhurandhar carries a strong semi-realistic tone.

The Film, the Cast, and What Comes Next

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features a star-packed lineup including Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Ranveer plays Hamza, a mysterious figure shaped by intelligence forces, an angle that will reportedly deepen further in the sequel.

With Dhurandhar releasing across 5000 screens and emerging as one of the biggest Hindi films of the year, expectations for Part 2 are now sky-high. If the cold final words on-screen are any indication, the story is far from over and the next chapter promises war, chaos, and payback.
