Dear Friends!

Its December and in a few days December 31st of 2006 comes and then 1st January 2007 comes. Its nice we are going to see new year.We should thank God for giving us opputunity to see a new day,new month and new year.

But why do people get manic over DECEMBER 31st and 1st JAN?

Why do people create lot of hungama as if some skylab or columbia is falling on Earth?

Some people are foolish that they look down those people who don't have any plans for this new year parties!!!

What if new year comes? Does life change tremendously?

Is'nt every minute in life precious? What's the reason for party?

Cheers,

Mythili

PS:Last 5 days I was stressed with work.So I lost my sense of humour. Now I'm back in action with full humour.

Passage of time is an abstract concept.
'New year' makes it concrete.
Of course, the height was at the millennium.
Actual change of millennium was when the year 2000 ended...but people were so impatient that they celebrated it a year early.

Yeah! New Millennium's New Year Hungama was ultimate.

between you and the doc, all I had to say was said already.

I guess "the need to celebrate" is person-specific

What seems celebration-worthy to one may seem futile to another. some other examples
1) graduation ceremony at the end of pre-school
2) sweet 16
3) new year's
4) a whole week of diwali
5) engagement
6) week-long weddings
7) cricket victory

Some people find everything worth celebrating. Some don't find anything so exciting. I guess most of us are somewhere in between.

New Years eve is just a rude reminder that another year went by without really doing anything worthwhile..so people want to drown their sorrow ..therefore they party!! 😉

I remember one of the girls i knew crying because it was going to enter her 17th year... no longer sweet 16... 😆

I dont attach much importance to it..

I initially have trouble writing the correct year when writing dates mm/dd/yyyy
i write the year wrong..

lol, we've become so busy with our mundane, daily lives that we now need a REASON to celebrate...otherwise, how else are you gonna get an excuse to take the day off work?
"i didnt feel like it" just doesn't cut it :P

celebratin a new start, looking fwd to a fresh new start...although one can do that anytym, but new year is just symbollic of that.
i mean, my first year of uni wasnt as great...but it's like, next yr it will be different! and i cant wait for this yr to be over so i can start over!! 😛

we need reasons to celebrate and festivals fulfil that need.
