Khushi and Buaji had just finished their lunch and were talking about the renovation work in JJ nagar, when their door bell rang. They usually come home for lunch and leave for the bakery after 3pm meanwhile Malika their staff will handle it.

Khushi frowned glancing at the time "Who can it at this time.Buaji you sit I will go and see " with that she walked towards the door.

Khushi opened the door and gasped in shock "Aap ? " she stood rooted to the spot and stared with a bewildered at Manorama and Manohar standing in the doorway.

Buaji walked up "Hai Re Nanda Kishore who is it Titaliya-------" she stopped speaking when she saw who is standing outside. Manohar smiled at Buaji and Khushi "Namaste Madumatiji. Khushi bitiya can we come inside ? "

Buaji gave a faint smile and called them inside for formality sake.She can never forget or forgive Manorama for the words she spoke to her Titaliya last time.

Khushi dint utter a single word but stood near Buaji while unconsciously laying a protective hand across her belly.Manohar smiled at her and asked "Khushi bitiya how are you? How is your health" Khushi just replied politely "Am fine sasurji "

Manorama gave Khushi an onceover and turned her eyes to Buaji."Hello Hi Bye Bye ! Madumatiji let me come straight to the point.We have come here to take our daughter in law back to our house " she said authoritatively.

Khushi gasped and Buaji uttered "What? ! but why? "

Manorama glared "What do you mean why? She is our daughter in law ,who is also carrying our son's child and the heir of our family.We want her to be living with us so that we can take care of her well and ensure she delivers our heir safely "

Khushi felt alarmed and she glanced at Buaji shocked. Manorama adjusted her cooling glass on top of her head and continued looking around at the house with displeasure "Look at the condition of this house.My future grand child will not be born under such stuffy place.Khushi pack your bags and leave.I cant stay in this place for long " she said with disgust and fanned herself.

Before Buaji could protest, Khushi touched her shoulder and then looking at Manorama, she spoke softly " Am not coming "

Manorama stared at her and Manohar decided to talk "Khushi bitiya Manu is right.You need special care and attention at this time.Am sure your Buaji takes care of you well here but we have lot of servants in our house who can help you with everything.Besides its your house and it feels empty without you.We all miss you bitiya.Come back " he said coaxingly.

Buaji shook her head "No Khushi isn't going anywhere.This is her house and I know how to take care of her "

Manorama glared at her "How dare you talk to us like that? Don't forget we have every right over that child she is carrying.We are its grand parents.We have more right than you "she said sneering at Buaji.

Khushi felt all the frustration and anger bubbled up within her at her words "Right? This is my child and am the one who have all the rights over it.And don't you dare utter any more words against my Buaji or our living condtions.We might not be super rich and bathed in money like you but we are not exactly making ends meet here.We are well off too and I know how to take care of me and my baby "

Manorama gaped at her.This is the first Khushi has ever spoken to her like this.She turned to Buaji "See how she is talking? Dint you teach her manners at all? "

Buaji was about to answer when Khushi interrupted "Buaji you pls leave it to me.I will handle it " She turned to Manorama and Manohar "Listen as my husband's parents I respect you both.But that doesn't mean I will keep quiet with what ever you say.Avi himself is gone now and I have no place in that house anymore nor do I want to be there " she then looked at Manohar "Sasurji you said few mins back that without me your house feels empty and you all miss me.Where were you all these days? Where were you when your wife and daughter taunted me all the time giving me hell? I was quiet all this while because I dint want my marriage to be ruined but now everything is over "

Manohar stood there stunned and feeling ashamed at her question regarding his silence.Khushi continued "Am sorry to speak rudely but I cant take it anymore ! I have been quiet long enough.And Sasuma you can do whatever you want to.But this child is mine and you have absolutely no right over it.You can visit if you want, I cant deny that but I don't want to hear anymore words against me or my Buaji " she finished feeling all weight lifting off her chest with her outburst.

Manorama stared at her in shock quickly regaining composure, she stood up glaring " I know how to handle this.I will fight for custody "

Khushi smiled "Sure go ahead. I might not be a lawyer but I do know a successful lawyer who can easily help me out and I also know the law states that child should be with mother only.Now if you are done can you pls leave us in peace " she said looking straight at her.

Manorama huffed feeling insulted and strolled off glaring at Buaji and Khushi.Her husband quietly followed behind timidly.

Khushi locked the door behind them and laid her back on it breathing a sigh of relief.Buaji sat on the couch with both hands on her head "Hai Re Nanda Kishore why is this happening to us "

Khushi sat beside her and hugged her shoulders "Buaji stop worrying.I know how to handle it.Am done keeping quiet.They cant disturb us even if they did am all ready to face them " she said determindedly.Buaji looked at Khushi with pride, she could see the old independent Khushi back in her and nodded kissing her forehead fondly.

Arnav is having a bad day. Inspite of having crucial meetings,he found himself unable to concentrate.His thoughts going again and again to his conversation with Di last night and with Khushi this morning."Dammit !!" He hit the desk with his palm in frustration and went to stand near the window as he gazed aimlessly at the busy street below.

How much ever he tried, he just couldn't imagine the thought of not being a part of Khushi's life."Damn it ! What the hell is happening to me? I dint feel this way when I left for Harvard 5 years back.I dint even see Khushi in all those years! Yet why do I feel restless now at the possibility of being away from her? Why did Di and Khushi's words affect me this way? F***! " he uttered the four lettered expletive and ran a frustrated hand over his hair.

He glanced at his watch and realized its almost 6pm.He promised he will check on the renovations for Khushi as he had prohibited her to oversee it herself reminding her of her health.He shut down his laptop which had gone to sleeping mode long back and getting his suit from the back of the chair he left office.

Arnav parked his car outside Buaji's house and came in, to find Khushi sitting on the couch deep in thought."Hey Lazy Bones what are you doing staring at the space? Everything ok? " he sat next to her and looked at her with concern.

Khushi immediately faked a smile "Hi Arnav.Ya everything is fine I ' I was just simply sitting " she lied.She decided not to worry him by telling him about her confrontation with her in-laws.She remembered very well how angry he was the last time her Sasuma was here and she dint want to any more trouble.

Arnav noticed that her smile dint reach her eyes.He looked at her seriously "Lazybones why do I get the feeling you are hiding something from me? "

Khushi smiled "Come on now don't play the detective everything is fine " she glanced at his phone on the table and wanting to distract him from probing further ,she took it in her hands and asked him "Hey did you download temple run's latest version? I tried doing it in my phone but It was not working " with that she opened his screen lock and gasped at the wallpaper in surprise.

Arnav looked at her behaving strangely, suddenly her expression changed to one of surprise and a big smile broke out on her face as she glanced at his phone "Arey wah you still have this picture ? This is the one Di gifted both of us right? How do have it on phone? " she asked him.

Arnav suddenly felt speechless.How can he explain to her when he himself don't know what made him snap a picture on his mobile from that framed photo this morning or why he had the urge to make it his wallpaper.

Before he could think of some coherent reply Khushi gazed at it fondly " I can still remember that day.We had so much fun ! "

Arnav sighed in relief but nevertheless decided to distract her from going back to the question ,he don't know to answer."Khushi do you still have the pictures taken in our childhoon and college days? I remember how you used to collect all those pictures and had bunch of albums back then " he said with a smile thinking back to those days.

Khushi's smile widened "Ofcourse ! Infact its been long time since I had a chance to look at them again.Hold on let me get it for you " she said and got up to proceed to her room.

Arnav immediately got up too and went behind her to help.Khushi was about to get on a chair to reach the attic when he stopped her with a 'Are you crazy ' look."Khushi get down you seem to be forgetting something " he said with a pointed look to her tummy which is yet to show.

Khushi's eyes widened "oh no ! " and she quickly got down. Arnav shook his head smiling, she is still a kid at times and gets excited very easily.

He quickly reached over the attic and brought down a big cover filled with albums.They sat side by side and went through their child pictures excitedly while reminiscing those happy moments.

They laughed aloud when they came across the picture taken during their school play competition at the age of 12.Arnav was dressed in the costume of Ram and Khushi was dressed up as Sita.

Khushi teased him "Arnav do you remember how much of scolding you got from preeti teacher when you struggled to keep the bow behind your back properly? She was so frustrated with you every time you kept fidgeting with it "

Arnav rolled his eyes "Look who is talking.I think you forgot how you used to fumble your lines halfway and stuttered on stage in spite of promptings from Preeti mam behind the curtain "

Khushi pouted "I did not " she said but a faint flush covered her face at the lie. She indeed forgets her lines almost all the time and Arnav used to tease her so much back then.

They pulled their legs some more as they went through the albums. Finally they reached their college days and was looking through the group photo. Khushi pointed her finger on a cute girl in pink salwar standing at the far end in the second row and smirked at him teasingly "You remember this girl? "

It was Arnav's turn to look embarrassed but he quickly covered it and gave his best poker face "Nope I cant remember "

Khushi quirked her eyebrow "Oh Really? Arnav I know you remember her very well.Who forgets their first crush " she asked laughing.

Arnav shook his head denying "Nope I dint have a crush on Sandy "

Khushi laughed "Got ya ! You said you don't remember her but still tell her name correctly" She continued laughing "You know Arnav , I cant forget the day you got that big nose cut from her.You finally got the courage to ask her for a date after drooling over her for months,only to find out she already had a boy friend "

Arnav glared at her "Well how am I supposed to know? "

Khushi laughed again and frowned "Well what was her boyfriend name? He used to play football for our college team right our senior "

Arnav nodded "Ya Dhruv.Dhruv Prakash " He scrunched his nose "What a strange name "

Khushi slapped her head as she remembered "Oh yeah now I remember ! His brothers also studied in same college right? Hari Prakash and Om Prakash " Arnav nodded.

They went through some more photos while continuing to tease and laugh.Buaji who came to give milk to Khushi , stood near the doorway with a smile.Only Arnav bitwa can bring that smile out of her Titaliya,she thought .She was very worried for Khushi after the day's events.Although Khushi spoke bravely to her , she was worried for her baby.But thankfully Arnav came and distracted her from her sorrows.

She silently prayed to her Nanda Kishore that he should keep his blessing on these two and they should always have this bond forever.

Little did she know that Nanda Kishore already has plans for these two friends.
