it depends on the kid..

the kid has to be made to realise that he has commited a mistake..If that can be achieved by using a little force I dont think it is wrong...

However, the extent and the reason matters...

I have never hit my kids but I have some kids who would not be behaving any other way. I think its wrong to criminalize parents who are just trying to raise kids who don't grow up to be tomorrow's Paris Hiltons and Sanjay Dutts.

In General Father is good only mother is bad ,reason mother may beat the kids.My Father never hit me.Yeah ofcourse once he hit me when I was in Kindergarden ,reason I got zero marks in English ,reason I did'nt submit the answer paper itself.When my father beat me I gave the answer paper from my school bag.My Father very bad for beating me ,he took me to a shop and bought several variety of biscuits for me.After that he never beat me.But my mom beat me upto 4th or 5th standard(Mothers are very strict😡).

I would say there should not be a Govt. Law prohibiting parents to hit their kids for good as Abhijit said. if kids listen to you without hitting, thats great but if parents has to hit kids once in a while to teach a lesson, there is nothing wrong in it. I do hit my kids when they don't listen to me and it does work. But if you are hitting your kids all the time for every little wrong thing poor kids do, then there is something wrong in your behaviour not kids. Too much hitting has direct but negative influence on kids behaviour.
