Review. Everyone of you must read it. Film "ShootOut At Wadala" could have done lifetime business of 80Cr but it will collect only max 50Cr. why? Because
I Was watching "Shoutout at Wadala" with starcast and whole team of the film. People were shouting and screaming without even listening dialogues like they did not come to watch film but just for shouting and screaming to show to team that they love the film.
Unfortunately this story is very thin line to make 2 1/2 hour film. And Biggest weakness of story is that you know the climax before to start the film. So I don't want to say more about the story. Undoubtedly the dialogues are just brilliant written by Milap.
Anil Kapoor sahab is very good like always. Sonu Sood and Manoj Bajpayee have done superb acting. Poor Kangana has nothing do in the film. All others are just O.K. Tushar Kapoor is brother of producer so director has given him role of a Pathan who was suppose to be 7ft tall. Unfortunately director keeps increasing role of Tushar who is not even fit for one single scene. Moreover director doesn't allow him to die because he is brother of Ekta ji and this whole track make you really crazy. John Abraham is ordinary like his all other films. He was best in films New York n Zinda but not able to repeat that performance here. He is still ok wherever he has original moustache. But John is not able to give any expression wherever he has used duplicate moustache and I am surprised that director was not able to notice that. Yes, fight director Tinu Verma has done superb job but he has gone too far away from reality in the climax and forced John to accept 100 bullets in his body and you cannot do this blunder in climax when you say that your film is based on a real story.
Now let's talk about Sanjay Gupta's direction. Of course he has shot film brilliantly and stylish like all his films. But this time he has believed Ekta Kapoor more than himself and this is his biggest mistake. Ektaji (jiske mind main sirf Ganddagi, Wahiyatpan, Galiyan and Ghatiyapan hai) wants to show people dirtyness and Ganddagi because she thinks that public likes only Ganddagi. She thinks that "Dirty Picture" was a hit because of dirtyness. No madamji actually it was hit because Dirt Picture is a brilliant film. Yes wahiyat film "Kaya Super Cool Hain Hum" was hit because of dirtyness but I think it was just luck of Ritesh Deshmukh.
So dirty minded Ekta asked director to show full ganddagi and wahiyatpan, so director is showing ki John dhakke mar mar kar Kangana ki khoob leta hai and one time nahin bar bar leta hai. John and his Gang do full maa bahan again and again woh bhi 100% without any reason. I cannot understand how Gupta accepted those wahiyat ideas of Ekta. May be because Gupta ji was having less confidence about himself.
The music of the film is very ordinary But makers are not aware of it till date because some liars keep telling them that music is brilliant. I cannot understand what was majboori of Sanjay to bring back flop music director Annu Malik. Why Yaar why?. The film should have only Priyanka Chopra's song. All other songs are disturbing pace of the film.
So SAW is a good film but in parts only and total length is 2 hours 25minutes. So if the length is 1hour and 50minute then for sure it can be much better film. It is 2nd time happened in 2013 that a film is not as good as it could be just because of long length. Same thing happened with Jayantha Bhai ki Love Story.
It is unfortunate that Sanjay Gupta has made a good film but not able to hit sixer just because of poor editing,long lenght, flop item songs, and Dirty suggestions of Ekta Kapoor.
It is so unfortunate that a director who has given brilliant films like Aatish, Zinda and Kaante was not 100% confident for his work and he has made film as per satisfaction of producer Ekta Kapoor.
Ektaji please note that your idea to show Ganddagi to public is not a hit formula at all. It's just in your mind because you do spend time with Sunny Leone and such dirty people.
Business- Producers already got investment+profit before release of the film. Even main distributor has made money. The film has been sold with expected business of 80Cr. so now only exhibitors n sub-distributors will bear all the loss.
Ekta ji agar film main bina wajah ki galiyan nahi hoti, bina wajah ki ganddagi nahi hoti, tho film ko A nahi milta n film would have collected 30Cr more. So pls remember it next time. Best of luck for next film.
