I think it is fear but asad knows himself well to know when anger takes over he doesnt know what hes doing and he can literally hurt zoya hes scared that he will cause her pain unintentionally just like how he hit her at hospital asad is always saying im sorry thats what their relationship is based on from their very first meeting, we've seen how asads character always goes into guilt because of misjudging zoya but loving her will never take away the fear of hurting her " love is giving someone the power to destroy you but trusting them not to" i think this quote defines how asads heart is. zoya has the power to destroy every wall asad has built around himself but he has to trust their love that if they love each other he wont hurt her

I actually think this angle of asad's is BRILLIANT. Hats off to Gul for bringing so much DEPTH to Asad's character. As a psych major i see it in him that he fears being his father.. he tells himself that his father is nothing for him but his father gave him the biggest deception as a child. He grew up seeing two people to immensely in love.. BREAK APART.. his father being the hand in that. He can never forgive Rashid for that.. but at same time he is reminded that he is his father's son at the end of the day. What if he ever were to fall in love and do the same thing to the girl he loves?

His fears are so genuine and legitimate and so REAL -LIFE like. I admire Gul for portraying it.

Eventually Asad will realize he is not his father. His father and himself are two different individuals. Two separate human beings. But its not going to be easy for him. For any individual it takes time and THERAPY for them to overcome such truths.

I would LIKE for him to take his time in realizing . cause it keeps it REALISTIC.. and will show us a genuine story and character progression rather than a rushed concept...

well said...but to overcome that fear...he must know the truth behind his fathers action...y he did so n for whom he did...

This is something I have been pondering over quite some time now

He hates Rashied Ahmed Khan to the core, but why does he always think he will be like him ???
Why doesn't he try to become a far better person than his spineless abu, instead I feel Asad should make himself strong and prove that he is NOTHING like Rashied, the man he despises more than anything

Asad tends to forget that he is not only Rashied's son, but also Dilshaads...the same woman who has so much love to give, despite her pain...
What if all the children of Rashied Ahmed Khan start thinking like this...then what will happen ????
Sometimes it is really difficult to understand Asad's mindset...

I totally agree with u but think about it again by him rejecting Zoya he is hurting her more than he would if he accepted her so technically he is proving himself to be Rashid Ahmed Khan and if i were Asad and i was afraid of that i would try to prove to myself that i am not like his father bcuz we all knows how much he hates his dad...luckily he has his ammi to save him from agony👏
