Today lets meet one more Desai
Vidyachatur Desai
A factory owner, the provider for the Desai family, the one who has kept the family bonded
together.
His name means some one who has the wisdom of learning, he truly epitomizes his name
While it is not clear what his formal education is, doesn't seem to be much, if education is
measured in degrees, his wisdom seems to have come from learning from life itself.
A man, of strong morals and principles, Vidyachatur is a truthful and courageous man
But what defines Vidyachatur for me is, the way he manages the relationships in his life
As a husband - he loves his wife, gives and expects trust and honesty in return
Must have been very romantic in his younger days and is still in love with her
As a father - in a village like ratnanagri, which is quite a traditional place, not having a son
might have been frowned upon, but he dotes on his daughters, esp Kumud.
He is strict yet fair as a father, has given them good sanskars, and freedom to make
the right choices.
The best demonstration of how much he values and cherishes relationships can be seen
from the fact that he is on excellent terms with both Dukhba, his sister, and Lakshminandan, his
friend. He has risen above what happened between them and supported both of them.
This shows how large hearted and mature he is!
Gentle, kind, loving, his home is open to all and he is generous
But the man is no pushover.
Betray his trust, and he will not take it lightly
And dare to point a finger at his beloved daughter,
And he will set aside all conventions and fiercely protect his own!
