Actually only yday I too had written (not here though) how it would proceed if it were real.
It is good to write such things so that those who are unaware will know. Also it shows the blunders the makers of the show do (though this isn't the 1st time). Absolutely 0 research by the writers + incorrect or zilch knowledge on the subject.

Hello Shyamala,
How are you my dear? It is good hearing from you. I too was wondering why Purvi was hugging Arjun instead of comforting her husband. Maybe cvs wanted to please Arvi fans. I feel so sorry for Onir. The good doc losing his license and all because of Purvi. How many more lives is she going to destroy? Soham should stay away from her before she ruins his life too.

Dear Namita,

In a way, I now feel much like what I felt after the Arjun-Ovi marriage. Tired, and angry and sad. Then it was for Arjun, now it is for Onir. At least for Arjun, his suffering was private, for Onir it is a crushing and very public disgrace, putting paid to an honourable and selfless career.

He might be stoic enough to cope with the public humiliation. But the loss of his profession is something else. A man who is shut out of something that is not just his profession but his passion will wither away and die of depression. He is a very strong man, but he is not given to voicing his sorrows or his problems and this introverted nature will make matters worse for him.

I loved Shakti's take yesterday on how Onir takes the blow, especially when he looks up at the ceiling before bending over and putting his head in his hand. The face spoke volumes.

I feel that Onir will now go into a shell as he starts thinking of how to pick up the pieces of his life If PR was a logical or even a moderately sensible show, they could show him appealing against the verdict of this court. But of course that is ruled out here, after this farcical court case yesterday.

In fact, I felt that this shutting himself off had already begun, for he goes off somewhere by himself immediately after he comes down and Purvi puts a hand on his shoulder. What a lukewarm way to comfort him in such a situation! She has no qualms about hugging Arjun and weeping in his arms in public, but she cannot find it in her to hug Onir, pat his back and convery her affection and support, and her sense of guilt at having brought him to this pass. But then it is all his fault, for having been such a benighted fool and falling so hard for this woman. .

So Onir might come round to thinking, if he feels that Arjun will be splitting off from Ovi, of offering Purvi a divorce by mutual consent. He no longer has a profession, and I am sure he is not qualified to be anything else but a doctor. He was never well to do, and how on earth will he manage now? He could thus conclude that he has nothing to offer her anymore, and as she has nothing to give him, as he believes, he might want to let her go, and then go off and do something in the villages.

If this happens, that would be a litmus test for Purvi, and it is to be seen if she can redeem herself at least in part by being a loving, supportive wife to her shattered husband. It is very difficult to handle a man in the throes of depression because he has been shamed publicly and can no longer do the things that were his sole passion in life. He will shy away from pity or sympathy, and might resent it, though Onir is very gentle as a rule. If she at all cares for him, she will have to find a way to tackle this crisis.

I do not think she has either the sensitivity and the intelligence to be able to understand what Onir would be going thru, nor does she care enough for him to work at pulling him out of it. So far, she has always been a taker from Onir, and I do not expect this to change. To borrow Janhvi's phrase, a leopard does not change its spots!

In fact, once she hears that Archana is out of her coma, Purvi may well abandon her husband to his fate and run back to Mumbai and her aai (presuming that they are now headed back to Kolkatta). So I have no great hopes for Onir or their relationship. If, however, she does stand by him at least now and makes herself useful, I would be pleasantly surprised.

Aunty,
As always a pleasure to read your opinion. I am really sad about how it had to be Onir. So much for love. And the spoilers say he will continue to support Purvi. These are things which make no sense to us as audience. This man lost his career, the thing he worked so hard for !
And now he lost everything for a single woman. I am glad Purvi understood its her mistake.

Waneeka my dear,

Yes, that is what it is, very sad.

I can see why Onir would still support Purvi, for if he saw her suddenly as she really is, he would lose faith in himself, and would no longer be able to live with himself. The only thing that can help him survive this ordeal is to believe that his sacrifice was worth it, as it was made for a person who deserved it. Otherwise, he would be like a prophet who has lost faith midway, and he would really crack up.

But what I cannot understand is what he is going to support her in.

As for Purvi realising belatedly that it was all her fault, what is the use of that now?

As usual a brilliant and practical post Shyamala but what do we do with those Arvi fans who would like to have the 2 back together again hook or by crook. I too like them was a diehard mad Arvi fan once till that annoying Purvi made the huge blunder of forcing Arjun to marry Ovi. I remember how I used to wait for Arvi scenes and how I wanted the two to be married and working in their office and having their little lovey dovey scenes and sometimes a little fight or mu but all those wishes just washed down the drain how sad.
I really don't know what the chances are of Arjun and Purvi getting back together but I really don't want Purvi to go ruining any other lives. Hopefully, she must have learnt her lesson by now.
Just have to wait and see what happens next. But between you and me I am kind of looking forward to the Sunny and Rucchi romance. They do look good together like our Arjun and Purvi oh! there I go again.

i think the whole PR team has no knowledge and idea about values, ethics, feelings, love, babies, parents, relations and not medical terms and not even judiciary..
they need to check out before they show anything and it is worst to expect from PR as it is a BT show and is never near to reality..

exactly rithika... completely agree with ur post...😊😊😊😊
pr cv's lost their mind when they showed a sister forcing her lover to marry another sister after sleeping with him...
ekta maata is showing all illogical tracks especially by showing a girl to sacrifice her love n her own kid which will not happen in realistic society.
even though pr is not realistic atleast there shud be some logical track in the show...but this serial is completely irritating, annoying n illogical😡😡😡

Thanks a lot, my dear, I am glad you liked it.

Oh dear, Namita, the last sentence just cracked me up! Yes, Ruchi is very perky and cute, and I only wish she had had all those extra teeth in the lower jaw pulled out. There are far too many of them, and the problem is that they all show when she smiles!

As for the rest. I was of exactly the same mind as you in the old days. Remember my post on the lunching together scene in Arjun's kholi, with Purvi washing up afterwards while Arjun watches? It was all so sweet and innocent and I loved them. Which was also why the shack affair disgusted me so much.

As for the touching embrace in the courtroom yesterday, it was bizarre. You might be interested in what I wrote about this and Purvi's failure to take the blame for it all publicly, to Janhvi on her thread. I am copying the extract below.

Warm regards.

Shyamala

****************************************************************************************************

If I had had a wife who does nothing but cry while I am going down the tubes for something that is 75% her fault, then comes up when I am feeling like crawling into a hole and pulling it in after me and puts a tentative hand on my shoulder like a compassionate passer by, and finally, when I come back from wherever, I see her crying all over her first and only love, I would have been more than disappointed.

I agree that she meant nothing wrong in that scene, but it would look VERY odd to anyone in the court, and all the more so to anyone conversant with their past history. Most husbands would have cut up very rough, whatever the nature of the marriage.

And as for Manav, if he thought it was not reprehensible, I would be much surprised. Knowing their past history, how on earth, Janhvi, would he think that it is innocent?A married woman in India does not cry all over a man in public unless he is her brother or father or the equivalent thereof. And what was Arjun thinking of? The minute he gets near her he starts holding her hand, and she does not have the good sense to pull away.

If I were not convinced that she is not immoral, I would not believe that this touching scene was innocent either. I only hope that, as with that gandharva vivah in the shack, she does not make me fall flat on my face once again. And you as well.

And where, oh where was the ever vigilant Soham, who was looking on as Onir came down from the box, with a despairing look on his face? Why was he not there at hand to prevent that touching scene between his pyaari behna and his bete noire? Should he not have been there to grab Arjun by the collar and summarily boot him out, and then offer his own shoulder for the distraught lady to weep on? Very curious.

I would also have liked to see Onir's reaction if he had come back in time to see it, and find out if nature, red in tooth and claw, would have triumphed over his eternal 'understanding'. I would have respected him more if it had, and Mishti would also have had a salutary lesson in the limits of tolerance and the constraints imposed by marriage.

That Manav listens to Damodar later does not mean that he thinks Arjun and Purvi are not guilty. It only means that he wants Ovi's marriage not to fail (the typical traditional track) and he wants to pull back the erring son in law. I am sure that he would not be as accommodating if it was an erring daughter in law. She would have been thrown out on her ear pronto!
