And you are right about initial episodes. I started on by chance ( like PR). I had stopped watching any soap. But I came across Kumud's refutal scene, and got hooked...so compelling they spurred me writing on them...had given you link in your thread. Chck it when have some free time...😆

Oh of course!! How can I?? Kumud is just lovely n beautiful inside out n I still remember one line of VC to kumud in the 1st epi - if god gives girls like u then better not get them married!! VC is so proud of his daughter n he has to. She is so bold, fiesty yet so elegant n beautiful n she has it in her n LN was damn right. There is only one gal who cud have changed Saras' mind n it is already done. He just needs to get out of his denial mode!!
Oh ho!! So kumud's blasting SC got u hooked? I on the other hand got hooked when i se m eyes on Sanyaasi Saras praying for his dad in that cold lake!! That is the introduction of Saras 😳 typical me!😳

On a serious note, I am not much impressed with VC. Actor is good. Character too is not badly written. But can't help notice some glaring inconsistencies in his dealings; as a father, is he truly 'protecting' his child? Is he even conscious of his brave daughter's pain, vulnerability, as her mother is? While easily forgiving real 'offender'-'ok his choice'-but in keeping him installed ( ok good for serial and viewers but as per practical reality of the story line?), is he sensitive to his daughter's state- both social and emotional? And even condoning former as good trait for not giving in to false notions of honours or prestige in favour to duties toward his friendship, what about later? And He knows about her dream too! No OSJ, I am not much impressed with VC. He may still rebound. Still shore up his dejected daughter, especially when mother will slap her. There will be more beautiful moments between father and daughter, but as per today he is failing for me.

There are others too like Thakkar & co. Actually we used to have old copies, in my father's library. But looks like they were discarded in some clean up...there are four parts; 1.) Budhdhidhan (Suvarnapuri) 2) Gunsundari 3) Ratna Nagari (Vidyachatur's ministry) 4) Saraswatichandra ( conclusion)..of course SC-Kumud are main theme in all four, other stories flows in as explanatory FBs by the narrator.
Mind you, Goverdhan Ram is formidable and so is his Gujarati😲😲...besides original is much different than Adaption. Only main theme and major characters are preserved in essence, though again, with obvious and major changes...😊

Thanks. Are they in Hindi or English, as I am a non Gujarati? Also am visiting bombay in first week of may, so will be able to buy.

Oh I don't know this. But I think, book has been selected as prominent literature by Sahitya Akadami. So translation must have been done. Though, language is so powerful and in its native element, I would be apprehensive on translation...I will try to find out.
