Simran, an ideal example or not!?

Hi, this is my first entry so please excuse me for any inaccuracy.

Recently, the way Simran's character is shaping up poses a lot of questions about her values and her own sense of right and wrong. Even when she was younger she did make some bad choices but this is crossing limits.

1. Her ability as a good mother. How do you define a good parent? I think the primary responsibility of a parent is to be able to stop your child when he/she is doing anything wrong. YOu do try differnt ways to achieve that. First with love and explaining and if that doesn't work be firm. It is very easy to be the person who always talk sweet things but parents have to tell the bitter truth. It is always better that a parent does that otherwise someone in the outside world is going to do that and that is always worse. Also, I would like to add that though i do believe that each child has certain inborn qualities, a parent cannot and should not take the credit for that and so Sia's nature is not Simran's achievement.

2.Her ability as a friend. Manas was the best friend anybody could have asked for and she lost him because of her own bad choices. Now she is repeating the same thing all over again. If she continues her attitude towards Sidh's personal life, she might loose the next most faithful friend she has! Urmila!

3. Her ability as a professional person. I don't think i should comment much about this mainly because the show is focused on her personal life and not professional but so many thing are happening at her clinic (like shouting match betn Astha and sidh and Sia and SImran) that it makes me wonder how professional it is or how efficiently can she work while being so much emotionally disturbed?

I think at this point of time Simran is turning out to be a bigger escapist than Abhi ever was. I sincerely hope it changes soon as I think Simran's personality was the main thing that made this show so different from other shows where a daughter-in law is either sacrifiing everything she has for the husband's family or all out to ruin someone's life!!!! It is a becoming a bit too melodramatic!

SIZE=3]A very nice post, I fully agree with the facts about Dr Simran, Its the whole astitiva team at fault, Which could not find the true meaning of ASTITVA....... character sketch of Simran has been turned out to be ESCAPIST rather than a ROLE MODEL.

Very well said! Literally, she is the fourth known women in Abhi's life, provided Abhi has not hidden/lied for his affairs for last 18 years 😉

Apart from being a loser in her personal life also a point to be noted here that she herself did not establish such a hospital, name and fame. She got a solid foundation and everything was easily set up for her by her father, Mr Mathur.

Simran is not a kind who I would ever like to even be with, forget idolizing. I'm too much scared of her black magic mantras 😃

Perhaps Simran wants to get rid of Astha as she has found her real daughter. By hiding all these facts from Astha she is trying to distant her (making excuse of right time, I'm sick and tired or this "waiting for the right time" phrase.) and everyone will still blame it all on poor Astha and Simran will still be an apple of everyone' s eys.

Just kidding but Simran should STOP lying NOW

Hi Trupti,
Welcome to IF.Did not see anything inaccurate in your post 😊 .This is not a Simran Fan Club and you have made some good points.
I tend to agree with you that Astitva is not going the way it was expected to by most viewers. Most of us who like the role of Simran are very disappointed at the way her personality has shaped up.
I especially agree with A-what you have said about parents having to take the tough decision of telling the children some truths which are not exactly pleasant but have to be told.
B- The story of a woman who believed in ideals has changed to a saga of a woman who is tolerating such nonsense from a daughter!
Very unconvincing indeed!

But I have a slightly different take on Simran Manas friendship. It's not just her who has lost a good friend. It was the way he accused her of being the other woman that resulted in the break. He reacted violently to her advice.Simran was just being idealistic... (wrongly according to me)thought all kinds of affairs and crimes could be forgiven and forgotten.
If Manas was not influenced by Ria,he would have had a talk with her like he always did.

Hey, but I can see that the Simran-Manas Friendship has really touched people's hearts.
Looking forward to more participation from you,Trupti.

Cheers
