Recently, the way Simran's character is shaping up poses a lot of questions about her values and her own sense of right and wrong. Even when she was younger she did make some bad choices but this is crossing limits.
1. Her ability as a good mother. How do you define a good parent? I think the primary responsibility of a parent is to be able to stop your child when he/she is doing anything wrong. YOu do try differnt ways to achieve that. First with love and explaining and if that doesn't work be firm. It is very easy to be the person who always talk sweet things but parents have to tell the bitter truth. It is always better that a parent does that otherwise someone in the outside world is going to do that and that is always worse. Also, I would like to add that though i do believe that each child has certain inborn qualities, a parent cannot and should not take the credit for that and so Sia's nature is not Simran's achievement.
2.Her ability as a friend. Manas was the best friend anybody could have asked for and she lost him because of her own bad choices. Now she is repeating the same thing all over again. If she continues her attitude towards Sidh's personal life, she might loose the next most faithful friend she has! Urmila!
3. Her ability as a professional person. I don't think i should comment much about this mainly because the show is focused on her personal life and not professional but so many thing are happening at her clinic (like shouting match betn Astha and sidh and Sia and SImran) that it makes me wonder how professional it is or how efficiently can she work while being so much emotionally disturbed?
I think at this point of time Simran is turning out to be a bigger escapist than Abhi ever was. I sincerely hope it changes soon as I think Simran's personality was the main thing that made this show so different from other shows where a daughter-in law is either sacrifiing everything she has for the husband's family or all out to ruin someone's life!!!! It is a becoming a bit too melodramatic!
