Why don't we get MOTW regularly? Mod replies Pg 3, 6, 7

didu i completely second you on this... they reply to our pms like after 3-4 days... i was an active member in other forums and the mods are so fast there with their actions... not only MOTW with other stuffs too... and they take hell lot of time to close bashing topics... thats why in spite of so much hard work we are still at number 3

i love spending time on this forum buh most of the time i get busy in work and stuff

Hey guys!

Erm, can I quickly say that it's not right to blame one Mod over the other? I mean we all have preferences and that's fine but don't blame one Mod over the other =)

And about MOTW,

Yes we did have MOTW, and I apologize terribly to whomever has their PMs sitting in my inbox. I'll get to them soon =) It's that I am a bit sleep deprived at the moment so when I do get proper time [4 day weekend], I'll get back to everyone!

And back to MOTW,

If you noticed, currently we had: The Banner Contest, the Caption Contest, the GOTW and DOTW's being posted up. And frankly, in my opinion if you have too many activities going around, members tend to get bored. I know they all matter for activity points, but QH is a big forum and the forum itself garners these points from the regular discussion topics!

So my idea for not doing the MOTW was that we had too many activities and since the BC just ended and CC results were announced, it was time to start MOTW again [possibly this week] as MOTW is always posted on like a Friday etc or something.

I do apologize for not being here, but that is my reasoning about MOTW...feel free to disagree with me and all though!

And again, please be patient and I'll look into your PMs. It's not about inefficiency but I do have over a 100 PMs sitting in my inbox since 2 weeks [for which I was away on a min-break]...so yeah. Again I apologize!

Hi guys,

I guess I should reply too! So, as shifali mentioned, we already have a few other activities going on at the moment and therefore the MOTW was put on hold till a few of them ended. We were actually planning to start it back up as soon as the Banner Contest was fully finished.

As far as PMs go, I reply to all of mine (unless they are just friendly messages) within 24 hours. And when this won't be true, I change my signature to reflect the reason for my delay. And I know a few of you have been skeptical about my mystical exam schedule, and unfortunately it is true that I have had constant exams atleast 1 exam day (usually includes a final or 2, 3 subjects) per week since the beginning of February [thankfully last one is friday and then we get a 2 week respite]. I am a graduate student and such a schedule is very commonplace here. I will be more than glad to provide an official exam schedule if anyone is interested in seeing that monster as it does sound crazy and hard to believe!

That being said, I am not citing exams as an excuse. The thing I said even earlier when this issue was brought up was that members make the forum, not the moderators. I do come on the forum multiple times a day, but if I am not posting you should rejoice because that means the forum is actually going along smoothly and peacefully. If I am posting a lot, then that means there are a lot of inherent problems! And since someone brought up the fact that I seem to spend more time in my other forums, well that is only true because they have more problems and hence I am closing more posts, etc. and that QH is doing great!

In all honesty, I don't really participate in almost any discussions in any forums. If you don't really believe me, feel free to check my post count. I have no problem being stalked 😆 Unfortunately, I can't promise that I will start being active in discussions anytime soon either. I rarely have anything to say unfortunately! But what I can promise is that I will be here as a DT member to help keep the forum peaceful and clean and be a neutral authority that you can turn to when you need to address something. A few of you have interacted with me in the past and I hope that that was the experience you guys got.

So, yea, I'm just a PM or scrap away (depending on how much privacy you want 😆) for whatever you guys need. But if you aren't communicating how you're feeling and only talking about the issues when they escalate such and you feel so let down, then I can't really do much. If you don't tell me what's wrong, I can't fix it! I am a lot of things, but a mind reader is not one of them (would be awesome if I could though 😆)

Anyways, that's my super long schpiel. If you think I missed something, let me know and I'll try my best to answer it 😊

I'm not very much satisfied by shifali's answer regarding the holding up of MOTW because MOTW is not an activity but a declaration of the member who has been most active and wonderful in a week.So holding up MOTW for n number of activities does not give me enough meanings.A sticky like religion issues could be removed but I don't want any compromise on MOTW for what so ever reason.
Gunia dear,I understand that u had exams in Feb but I never found u enough active on the forum since October.I'm sorry to say but u make guest appearances here.I am a post-graduate student,so I understand your hectic schedule.
But then as I've said if a responsibility is taken it needs to be either done or delegated properly.
If u were busy in exams u cud have asked coolbies,etc to take care of the most important activities of the forum.
But this didn't happen and that is why I'm much disappointed this time.

Apart from the above mentioned things,I have nothing more to say as I already have taken out all my grduges while conversing with Jyoti..
I hope that after this issue being brought up,our DTs will pay more attention to this forum so that we can make our forum number 1 very soon.
Thanks a lot Shifali and Gunia for an explanation from your side.We understand ur POV and hope you guys may also pay more heed to our concerns.
