Sid-Toral etc - Page 4

Hmm... I feel there is only one Anandi character. She was portrayed well by Avika & Pratyusha, not Toral. There is no Avika'a Anandi or Prat's Anandi. Only progression of her character from childhood to adulthood. Now I don't see that progression with Toral. It looks like some one else, not Anandi.

One more thing I would like to add here.

There are two separate things in acting. One is an actor's ability to act & the other one is the decision about how that actor will act. The decision of how to act is taken by the director & the actor translates that decision on screen.

Prat had shown that she could be assertive/aggressive in many situations like you said. But she wasn't assertive in front of Gauri-Jagya. Since we know that she can act that way, its not her acting ability due to which she didn't act aggressive there. She acted that way because it was the decision of the director.

But if we look at Toral's acting. Its clear that the director has given her the dictat to act delicate/feminine now. So she is talking slow/low voice, etc. But she is the one who is not able to translate it on-screen. She is faltering in her act.

As I said before, I saw some posts which categorically said that because Sid was a flop in earlier shows and he succeeded in BV, so will Toral. So this response is directed towards that argument.

Siddharth Shukla has come in as a totally new character so that's why it was easy to make his mark.

As for T she is the third actress to play the same role.

The first replacement was inevitable and it was planned because of the leap in the story.Even then people did not accept Pratts immediately as Anandi because of many issues ranging from her peformance and the fact that they could not connect her with Avika's Anandi and last but not the least the physical appearnce of Partyusha did not match the perception people had in mind when they thought of grown up Anandi.She was shorter than Avika.Imagine a grwon up Anandi looking smaller than the child Anandi.But the strong storyline they had made up for that was lacking in post leap Anandi and gradually people started accepting Pratyusha as Anandi.It took many months to accept Pratyusha as Anandi

Toral has come in as a replacement in unexpected circumstances.On top of it she is walking into a role that is already established so it will be lot more difficult for her.She doesn't have time on her side like Pratyusha had in getting into the role.

I am not a fan of Pratyusha and I am yet to accept T as Anandi.But i think comparisions with Sid and Pratyusha are not warrented because the situations are totally different.

Why do members continue to compare actors when we have stated in the rules that comparisons are not allowed and have informed the same in many posts on many occasions, comparisons only lead to further unrest on the forum and often are the cause of instigation.
