Random OS. Sheer happiness❤️❤️❤️
"All these fairy tales are full of shit." Rey told Swayam as he switched off the lights of Anusha's room.
"What is shittier is that my daughter prefers her uncle reading a bed time story to her rather than her own father." He said, punching Rey in the arm.
"What can I do? I have that charm that attracts ladies." Rey pulled up his collar and flash his bright smile.
Swayam rolled his eyes.
"And they lived happily ever after." Rey said in a squeaky, girly voice. "What's wrong with these people? Kissing frogs to make them men? How desperate can you get?"
"Oh stop. You're not a 5 year old girl to understand how important kissing a frog is. Little girls love this stuff!"
"Whatever dude, I'm going to get a drink." Rey said, annoyed. "Here". He handed the book to Swayam. "Keep it in place."
Swayam looked at the cover and sighed. He knew another girl who used to love reading these books when she was 5 years old.
"Swayu, put on my Daddy's coat please."
"Why? It's so big!"
"Arre please please. I want you to be my prince in my story."
"Do I get to ride a horse?"
"No. I don't have a horse. But you can kiss me."
"Ewww."
"That's what all the princesses do in the fairy tales. And I'm a princess! So you have to kiss me!"
"Ugh. Go away." He had said, pushing her away.
She had started sobbing; looking like a little sad princess in her pink dress and white tiara her mother had bought her few weeks ago.
"Swayu", behaving like an average 5 year old boy would do, stuck his tongue out at her and ran off to complain to his mother about Sharon's advances.
Swayam sighed, thinking about all the times he had spent with her. He shook his head, trying to forget it all.
He put the book away, closed the door and walked to the kitched. Rey sat by the window, smoking a cigar.
Swayam went over to him and pulled the cigar out of his mouth.
"How many times have I told you not to smoke in MY house? I have my 5 year old daughter two doors away and I don't want her inhaling this."
"Oh c'mon! You're sounding like you're mom now." Rey whined.
"Whatever. What've you got there to drink?"
"Oh so drinking is fine but smoking is not? Nice values you got there."
"I'm not a compulsive drinker like you. It's just once a week or so. And after Anu is asleep anyway."
"It's just a breezer. Ha, remember the party we had thrown for you on that yacht? Everybody had gone full on tali that night.
She had been sipping the grape flavoured and he was watching her, his arm around her. He had downed quite a few bottles by the then.
"Sharon?"
"Yeah?"
"Nice colour."
"Huh?"
"Of your lips."
Sharon touched them, blushing furiously.
"They're purple."
"Oh, oops." She said laughing .
"Purple lips looks good on you." He said, truthfully.
"Swayam, I think you're drunk."
"Yes I am." He said
She watched him leave, confused.
Later, as the yacht was on its way back to the dock, Sharon stood near the rail, letting the wind blow in her face, enjoying the silence.
She thought about Swayam and their relationship. She really loved him a lot. But she didn't think he was serious about this relationship. Or maybe he was, but it wasn't like they were in a relationship. They had always been together anyway, they were best friends. So the relationship hadn't changed. Except their urges were satisfied.
Suddenly, Swayam appeared by her side. He didn't look as high as he had been an hour ago. He had washed his face and he wasn't moving from left to right like before.
"Bored? I'm sorry this is a really boring party."
Sharon didn't look at him.
"No Swayam. " She said, stroking his cheek affectionately
Swayam didn't say anything. He just looked ahead.
"Is something wrong?" She asked.
"Yeah."
"What?"
"I need to tell you something."
"Go ahead"
"No please tell na."
"It's stupid."
"Nothing you say can ever be stupid." Sharon said, grabbing his hand.
Swayam looked at her and gulped. She was so beautiful , she always took his breath away.
"Ok wait."
Swayam put his hands into his back pocket and looked for something. Unable to find it, he searched in his back pocket. Finally he removed it from his pocket and put it behind his back.
Sharon rolled her eyes." Whatever it is you will have to show it to me Swayam. I'll make y-"
Swayam shushed her.
"Ok listen." He said.
"What?"
"Arre listen na! We've been in a relationship since 4 years now."
"Yes."
Swayam glared at her. Sharon zipped up her mouth.
"We're adults now. We are doing well in our respective careers. So I think it's time we-"
"We what?"
"We..uh…get married?"
Sharon's eyes lit up.
"I know this is the lamest proposal ever." He said as he brought the box he had been hiding behind his back and opened it, revealing a ring.
Sharon gasped.
"Oh my God, Swayam!"
"Do you need me to bend down? Coz my jeans are a little tight...…you know." Swayam said nervously.
"Yes yes yes!!" She screamed.
"Ok, but this has to be done fast, other I'll be mightly uncomfortable."
"Oh you silly fellow! Yes! I will marry you!" She said.
Swayam was shocked. He reached out and pulled her into a hug. He was practically crying now.
"Do you promise to be with me forever?"
"Forever and ever and ever. Till death do us apart. And after that I'll join you in Heaven." He said chuckling.
Till death do us apart, that's what he had said to her.
"Yeah, I remember." He told Rey, looking dejected.
Rey realised he had touched upon a soft topic.
"Uh..I'm going to bed now. You staying up?"
"Yeah for a while."
"Ok. Goodnight."
"Night."
Swayam got up and went to throw the breezer in the dustbin. He noticed the picture hanging on the wall, behind the table.
They were both smiling at the camera, the tall and magnificient Eiffel Tower behind them. It had been their first trip post Anusha's birth. They had finally got some time for themselves to relax.
Swayam fell back on the chair, his head in his arms. All the memories, all the times he had spent with her came rushing back. He realised how much he missed her. He couldn't live without her.
He picked up his coat and car keys and checked on Anusha, before walking out of the house.
He got into the car and began driving. He parked the car on the side. He could see the graveyard, looking even more dark and gloomy in the night.
He began walking down the street towards the building. He ran up the stairs and rang the doorbell.
Surekha bai opened the door. She looked sleepy but she didn't say a word. She just turned around to call her.
"Sharon didi, there is someone for you." Surekha bai was smart. She was clever enough to say "someone" not "Swayam".
"Coming." Sharon's voice rang out from her room.
She walked up to the door and just stared at him.
"What?"
"Can we talk?"
"I think we talked enough that night."
"Can I come in?"
"It's 11 o'clock."
"It's me."
She didn't say anything. She just walked inside. He followed her, closing the door behind him.
"Sharon.."
She refused to look at him.
"I'm really sorry."
Silence.
"Believe me, I realised how wrong I was. I was drunk and angry. And I removed my anger out on you. It wasn't right and I'm sorry. I really am. Everything happened so fast that night. I didn't realise the impact of my actions."
"So why didn't you come to apologise before. Why now? It took you two weeks to realise your mistake?" Sharon said, her voice filled with sadness.
"I was too proud to come here and apologise. I'm sorry. You know how precious you are to me. Anusha and you are the most precious things in the world to me."
Sharon badly wanted to forgive him. She still loved him as much and she knew he hadn't meant anything he had said last night. But she wanted him to apologise to her, to say sorry. Swayam was a very proud man and if he was saying sorry, well that would prove he really meant it.
"If not for me, atleast forgive me for Anusha's sake. She thinks her Mommy has gone on a business trip."
"You mean for YOUR daughter's sake. Since according to you, I am unable to bring up my own daughter well."
Swayam didn't say anything. He just looked down, ashamed.
"Please Sharon, please think about all those times we've fought and made up. I'm sure we can survive this fight together too. Remember we had promised each other we would never leave the other person's side?"
Sharon remembered the night he had proposed to her to marry him. It hadn't been the best of romantic proposals but it had meant a lot to her because it had come straight from the heart.
Tears welled up in Sharon's eyes as she recollected that moment. It had been magical.
"Sharon, I'm a mad man. I'm psychotic.I'm retarded. But you know what you were going to have to deal with when you agreed to marry me right?" Swayam said, smiling a little.
Sharon couldn't help but smile at his statement. He had told her the same thing on the day of their marriage too. A minute before she put the garland on his head.
"You're right. I guess I'll have to deal with a pyscho for some more time now. I'm not gonna give up so soon. I will try my best to make you normal."
Swayam beamed and went over and hugged his wife.
"I'm sorry." He said, his voice choked up with emotion. "Never ever will I do something like that."
"I'm sorry too. I overreacted a little too much. I blew it out of proportion."
"I love you Sharon. My family means the most to me."
"I love you too Swayam."
Swayam's mobile started ringing.
Home calling
Swayam picked up the phone in a rush.
"Hello?"
Anusha was on the verge of crying. "Daddy, where are you? I'm all alone here."
"Sweetheart isn't Singhania uncle at home? He was supposed to babysit you."
"He's sleeping and I'm scared daddy. There are scary noises from his room."
"That must be him snoring." Swayam said. Sharon snickered.
"Daddy come home please. Where are you?"
"I was picking Mommy up, baby." Swayam said, smiling at Sharon. "She's coming home."
