PART 9
Arohi moaned. She could not see. She could not hear. She could only feel.
The most exhilarating feeling that she had ever felt. Her breathing had deepened. Her heart was beating wildly as if trying to rip her chest and jump out. She could feel knots in her stomach and a hand on her waist, trying to ease them. Her nose and her senses were filled with a strong male musk scent that was making her feel like she might faint with pleasure.
Arjun was in a similar state. Never before had he been turned on so much with just a simple kiss. His purpose of kissing Arohi was to make her stop talking, take her by surprise and dominate her in the kiss. But what started as a one side activity, progressed into a battle of control over each other and burst open into a paradise of pleasure. Arjun did not realise when his one hand had circled Arohis waist to caress her stomach through the fabric.
Arohi did not realise when her hands had gripped the front of Arjuns jacket and had pulled him instead of pushing him away. Arjuns one hand was still holding her neck as he turned his head to deepen the kiss. The kiss that he wanted to go on and on and never end. Wafts of jasmine filled his nose, kicking his pleasure senses in to overdrive. His heart was soaring in the clouds as he realised how absolutely perfect this felt.
Arjun walked ahead, pushing her backwards with his arms around her, with the intention of sitting on the bench behind and pulling her on his lap. But Arohi stumbled walking backwards and they both fell down.
Arjun winced at the impact and opened his eyes to see darkness around. He was lying on the floor, next to his bed, in his room, in his house. He got up and sat there for a couple of more minutes till he got a hang of the time and his surroundings. Getting up from the floor, he headed to the washroom. Arjun switched on the light and opened the tap to splash water on his face, but his hands stopped mid way when he noticed the reddened skin of his cheek.
The same cheek where Arohi had slapped him.
Arjun gritted his teeth at the memory. He had been fed up of arguing with her, and with the intention of shutting her mouth, Arjun had kissed her. Arohi had struggled a lot and beat him on the chest and shoulders, but Arjun held her nape tightly, ravishing her soft lips with his hard ones. Arohi had held the collars of his jacket, and he felt her pull him towards her for a few seconds before she put all her strength and pushed him off her face. The slap had come out of nowhere and Arjun had seen stars in front of his eyes, with Arohi walking between them and away from him.
With one hand on his cheek, Arjun had stood in the middle of the lawns, trying to realise what exactly had happened. Anger had surged within him again, but it was more towards himself and his actions than Arohi. What the f**k was he thinking??!!
Arohi had taken a lift home from someone and Arjun drove back alone. He swore never to drink again and fight with Arohi… it made him act crazy! He was thinking hard again and again, that what had made want to do such a stupid thing… like kiss her! He knew Arohi very well by now and if someone else had done this to her, he would've expected her to do nothing less than slap him. And yet, he had gone ahead and done something like this… why?
Tired of analysing, Arjun had taken a cold shower and slept off. But the stupid dream had made him fall off the bed and woke him up again! Why was he dreaming of Arohi enjoying his kiss? Did he want her to enjoy it? Was he attracted to her???
NO!!! He was definitely not attracted to her. He cant be! She was not his type… no she wasn't! Maybe it had been too long that he had been with a girl now and he was missing it. He should probably start cutting his work hours and go on a few dates now. He could not deny that Arohi was beautiful… tonight had made him realise so. But that did not mean that he was attracted her. Probably he was spending too much time in her company and needed to go out more.
Splashing water on his face, Arjun wiped it off and went to bed to try and sleep.
Arohis bedroom…
Two weeks. It had been two weeks from that day and still Arohi was tossing and turning. The only difference being, that Arjun had kissed her knuckles then and tonight he had kissed her lips! HOW DARE HE!!!
Arohi threw away her quilt and sat up. Rushing out to her balcony, she grabbed the balustrade and tightened her fists around it, imagining it to be Arjuns neck. She had never been so shocked before in her life. That was because noone had ever dared to do something like this with her… till today. There were a lot of things that had not happened to her before Mr Singhania came along.
She had made sure she taught him a lesson though. That slap must've waken him up from his illusion of a masochistic male stunt of kissing a girl into submission. The nerve of that man!
Arohi had rushed out of the venue and had been thankful to Mr Agarwal for offering her a lift. But before she left, she had not failed to notice the black saree woman dance away happily in the arms of a man, who might be her husband. Her head was on his chest and she had a smile on her face. They looked very happy together.
So maybe Arjun was telling the truth… It still did not give him any right to kiss her!
'Even you had no right to attack his character." Arohis inner voice spoke up.
But that's how he has been and he accepts it. Its not my fault for assuming the obvious.
'That is no valid reason… and you know it.'
Fine. So I should have believed him. But still, that kiss was not acceptable.
'Agreed. And you slapped him, so you guys are even now.'
… and he totally deserved it! What does he think of himself?
'Why does his morality bother you so much? Is it because your sister was in the picture of is there any other reason?'
No… there is not other reason. I cannot tolerate a man whom I cant respect. And an immoral person is not respectable.
'You have tolerated him these past two weeks when you were working with him. In fact you admitted to even admiring the way he works. So then why the sudden moral test?'
'That's because… because… Oh just shut up!'
Angry at her inner voice, Arohi shut the balcony doors, plopped on her bed and drew the quilt above her head, shutting everything out of her world.
Next morning… 7 am!
"You did WHAT??!!"
Arjun looked up with guilt in Natashas shocked eyes.
He looked down again and stirred his coffee. Natasha dropped down on the sofa chair in front of him. He had deliberately not told her about his dream. He did not want her to go all analytical on his a**.
"What is wrong with you! Tum dono mein problems kam they kya… that you had to go out and…" Natasha yelled at Arjun and he kept down his coffee cup.
"Shhh… Dheere bolo… Aman sunlega!"
"Sunday subah ke saat baje hai Arjun. Aman so raha hai… aur mein bhi so rahi hoti agar tum itni subah subah meri neend kharab karne nahi aate!!!"
"I'm sorry… lekin mein puri raat so nahi paaya. I think I made a mistake."
Natashas eyebrows shot up in surprise. Her boss, Arjun Singhania was accepting to a mistake, that was new… again!
"I don't know why I did it… but she was bring impossible Nats! Baar baar wohi baat… you're characterless… you've no morals… etc etc. I was just fed up and angry. I just wanted her to shut up and stop attacking me like this again and again…"
"… and so you kissed her?" Natasha stared at Arjun who was frowning with self realisation. "Do you realise Arjun, that you've given her a confirmation stamp, of what she thinks about you, by doing so? Not to mention making things uncomfortable because, she is your partner, with whom you work everyday!"
"I know I made a mistake. Ab kya karu voh bolo…"
"Jaake usse sorry bol do."
Arjun shook his head stubbornly. "No. She started it first. Sorry usse pehle bolna chahiye."
"Arjun… stop acting like a child! If you've made a mistake and you realise it then you should apologise." Natasha told him sternly.
"Im your boss Nats. Stop bossing me around!"
"Sirf office mein! Yaha, mere ghar pe, tum sirf mere dost ho. So do as I told you. Go and spoil Arohis sleep now… that is, if she has slept at all!."
Arjun stared at Natasha. He had not even given this fact a thought. And now that he did, he was sure that even Arohi had spent the entire night awake.
Arohi was not the kind of person who went around kissing guys. Definitely not the guys she hated. And whatever the history between them, she was still his partner and they had to work together for atleast the next one year before they can let their teams take over. It was really going to be awkward for both of them to be in each others proximity if they did not talk it out and get it over with.
He remembered the struggle they had faced the past two weeks to come to a comfortable silence between them. The incident that had happened 6 years ago had cropped up again yesterday and led to this whole mess. If they had discussed it before hand and not played their stupid games then maybe what happened, could have been avoided.
He did not care what she felt or didn't feel. He wanted this project to run smoothly and become Indias most high profile successful one. And for that to happen, if he had to apologise to Arohi and get it over with, then so be it. He owed it that much to Sudhir uncle.

Early Monday morning, Arjun exited the lift and walked towards Arohis cabin. His heart was beating in synchronisation to his footsteps, the thud thud matching the tap tap. For the first time in two weeks, Arjun did not return Shantis sweet good morning smile directed towards him. Knocking slightly on the door, Arjun entered in.
The butterfly was back in to a moth mode.
Hair tightly tied in a bun, a full sleeved pastel coloured shirt teamed up with knee-length pencil skirt and black pumps, Arohi stood near the window reading a file, with a pen in her hand and rimless glasses on her nose. Arjun gulped.
Before Arjun could speak another word, the door opened and D walked in.
"Good morning Arjun… Coffee?" D kept Arohis mug on her desk and offered the other one to Arjun.
Arohi looked up from her file, glanced at both of them and went back to reading it.
Arjuns eyes were drawn to her lips, which had been painted raspberry pink today. He suddenly remembered how soft they had felt beneath his own. He could smell jasmine inside the cabin, making him wonder if Shanti had been here. He cleared his throat in order to get Arohis attention. He wanted to say what he had to say and get it over with!
Arohi looked up and went near her desk. Keeping the file on top of a pile she picked the the entire bundle up with one hand and her purse with another.
"Arohi… I wanted to…" Arjun stammered to start but Arohi beat him to it.
"We have a meeting in 15 minutes with the investors. They want to know our future plans month by month post production. Lets take my car."
Brushing past him, Arohi moved out of her cabin and Arjun stood staring behind her.
Gimme long comments guys!!! im stuck with MR ka next update... have scratched what i wrote twice! an update this weekend is what i promise though 😳
