The issue of Plagiarism is becoming a serious issue for writers in this Forum. However, I feel that writers need to learn to become more creative and more original in their works, rather than try to gain inspiration from other works or writers. This post has been created for people who feel that they are not creative enough. I hope it helps.

What is Creativity?

Creativity or imagination is within us all. But we learn to build mental walls around these skills a we grow up, and gradually they can become atrophied. Therefore practice helps here as well. The act of drawing will gradually fuel your own unique associations with the things around you, and thus lead to imaginative ways of interpreting them. In art the magic is usually right in front of us, the common and overlooked, the every day, the supposedly ordinary is extra ordinary when we learn to look at it with an artists eye.

Whether your business involves boats or bytes, wellness or words, coming up with a fresh angle can mean the difference between a humdrum income and a spectacular one. Creativity isn't an exact science, but it involves far more factors within your control than most people realize.

How to be become more Creative?

These are 6 simple steps, on how to become more creative with idea's:

  • Don't compare yourself with others. Writing isn't easy. Most people think that their writing is not very sophisticated enough to another writer. Writing is a thought process. Every writer is different. The use different words and different vocab. Every writer has a different style. You shouldn't feel scared by that. All of you have to remember is that no-one is perfect in writing. You don't have to be amazing. If you are not confident in your writing skills, then try to write something simpler first. You can always change it later. Such as you might decide to write something that 6th grader can understand, which is fine.

  • Don't listen to feedback. Keep following your own path. The problem with asking for feed back is invariably the feedback will be given infused with that person's preconceived notions of what the outcome should be. Others will unconsciously push you in a direction that they see as best. This is done with good intentions; however, it actually hurts your creativity. Now this is different from sharing your work ' by all means share, but listening to feedback is not a good decision if you want to truly find your own path of creative self-expression. Once you're finished with your creative work, whatever it may be, then you can listen to feedback. Just don't let criticism stifle your creativity during the creative process.

  • Routines. Routines are positive if they reinforce a healthy, creative mindset; they're negative if they destroy that. While breaking your routine once in a while to force new ways of thinking is good. Many writers not only have a minimum number of words they must write each day. You do not have to have follow such a strict regime. You can be even more relaxed than that. Your time frame, could a week. However, sometimes breaking these routines is also important as you wouldn't want your life to very monotonous. As they say, change is good.

  • Let go of Perfectionism. Our natural output, drained of concern for creating something that's exactly right, will always produce creative results. There are limitless paths to achieve creative success; there are so many shades of gray. Imperfection is human, and sometimes the most creative artists leave mistakes unfixed on purpose. Nature itself is beautifully imperfect. Many try to be so perfect that they scrub away what made their work special in the first place. In a world saturated by overproduced, unnaturally perfect, and clean, the unpolished is the most creative and in many cases most inspirational.

  • Ignore trends. If you want to be truly creative, you absolutely must ignore trends. Block them out ' pay zero attention to them. Trends are the polar opposite of creativity. Stop thinking about how many likes or comments the other writer has got, because that is not your story. Everyone is different. Don't try to be like them because everyone is unique. By trying to copy their concepts or ideas, you are following a crowd. It might get you lots of likes and comments, but it wouldn't necessarily make you happy, because it was not your idea. Try to be innovative. Inspiration is only good to a certain extent.

  • You. Best way to bring creativity out is from within you. Most people forget their own life experiences and straight for fiction. However sometimes turning your own life experiences into fictions is easier than going straight in for the kill. It doesn't have to be your whole life-story but just a few parts here and there, because trying to be realistic normally gets you somewhere. It is personal to you. So it is your work.

I hope these 6 steps have helped you to become more creative with your writing.

Here are some more tips on how to become more Original with Your work:

  • Be yourself! Creative is not copying someone else.
  • Go out there and actually do something creative! You're not going to become magically creative overnight! It takes time.
  • If you have problems being creative, look inside yourself. Everyone is creative, but if you don't think you're 'good' enough to be creative, then chances are you won't be able to be as creative. Raise your self esteem and you'll find that it's a lot easier to be yourself.
  • Spend time around creative people. The most reliably creative people are children. Their imaginations aren't boxed in, and "mind merging" with them can remind you of what it's like to think outside the box.
  • Whenever you're challenged to create something, ask yourself: What's the most outrageous, preposterous, and nonsensical thing I can come up with?

Being Creative isn't very difficult.

The only people who can't be creative are one's who don't even try.

Love you all,

Mishty

well said mishty totally agree with you also the writer need to come up with a way to defend them selves instead of leaving IF learn to fight with what you have brains and your pen because the plagiarism all over in on the blogs and other site so instead of quitting it know it frustrating but now every time some steal your work make it known to the mods to your friends to your fans show the power of the pen

Your welcome. I am happy that you are now going to be writing again.

We need originality.

Trust me. In India Forums, the response will come in some time.

It is not immediate. All the best to you.

Love,

Mishty

thank you so much
you are right...if we are writing a story then we should not think about if the other writer is getting more likes or comments then us. because it only makes you sad and you start to think what the other has that l don't have.
well said really👏

It's a very good post indeed, so I must applaud you for that! Now go my thoughts on this topic-

  • First of all, I agree, don't compare yourself with others. - Trust me I have gone through this phase when I was kind of jealous of the tremendous response I saw some people get. But this is where your maturity kicks in. Why do they get such an amazing response? Because they are very good writers! They have a good storyline, they are working on their characters and guess what? This is why their work is popular. And instead of making me jealous, it then inspired me to out do myself with whatever I write, to improve myself with every chapter. There's no shortcut to getting response, it'll happen in its own time and till then you have to keep on improving yourself. (I started writing some four years ago. And looking back, I can see a HUGE difference in my own self. So trust yourself, you'll get there some day.) Life is a learning process.
  • You don't have to have a hit formula for writing stories. Write something out of your experience, because that is what makes the story appealing because then as a writer, you are in the characters' shoes and trust me there is lot more happening in real life than in any story. There are innumerable instances and incidents that we can write about!
  • You don't have to have a very good vocabulary. A good doesn't need to have words that half the people may not get. The beauty of a work doesn't lie in that. It lies in its simplicity and the ability to connect to its audience and how well it brings to the fore all the underlying emotions. This is not to say having a good vocab is bad. Writing is one of the best ways, according to me to have a good vocab. Don't let words restrict you. Write freely because that is the time creativity pours out of you!
  • About the routine thing mentioned in the main post, I agree. Everybody has a different time to write. While some of the writers on this forum are very good to sticking to a strict schedule of updating, there are other lazy bums like me who are moody as hell. 😆 I can write a five word pages chapter in one go and sometimes it takes more than ten attempts to complete it. But whatever you write, make sure it is good. There's absolutely no need to succumb to the pressure of updating frequently. After all, it's quality what matters, not the quantity. Everybody in this forum understands that people have lives out of I-F and we may not be always in a mood to write. So, relax and take your own sweet time. :)
  • A strive for perfectionism is good only till the point you actually strive to improve yourself and not please others. You write for yourself first, and then for everybody else.
  • People who don't follow trends are known best in this world. Need I say more?
  • One more important thing I would like to add is writer's block problem! 🤢 It's a bane for us writers. But one thing I have learnt over time is that the more desperately you want to overcome it, the more it gets in your way. And then if you leave it alone for a few days, it seems that my brain analyses the story at the back of my head and then gives me what I need to put it on paper. In a bid to overcome it fast, don't lose the essence of the story-it's what makes it tick.
  • LAST- Make sure your story is yours alone. Your story should have you in there. It may not be a life-experience, but whatever you write, make sure you truly get the undercurrents of the characters, the plot, etc. A story alien to your mind will get you nowhere.

Hope this helped. 😃
