Preity Zinta recently shared a throwback memory with Bobby Deol and his wife Tanya, recalling how she ended up as the “third wheel” during their honeymoon in Australia while shooting for Soldier. The trio reunited at Manish Malhotra’s Diwali bash over the weekend, sparking nostalgia among fans. Preity and Bobby, who were one of Bollywood’s most popular on-screen duos in the late ’90s, shared a warm embrace, taking many back to their hit films together.
Preity looked elegant in a white Anarkali, while Bobby opted for a maroon velvet kurta with gold zardozi embroidery. Tanya complemented the duo in a gold sequin saree. Photos of the trio instantly went viral, highlighting their enduring friendship.
Following the event, Preity posted a selfie with Bobby and Tanya on Instagram, along with a heartfelt caption that captured her bond with the couple. She wrote, “Some friendships just get better with time! From the first time Tanya & Bobby met (yes it was at a Diwali party and yes I was there and in a small way, was part of the start of their love story) to the Soldier shoot in Australia… which was also their honeymoon and I was there as the third wheel who they entertained wholeheartedly! Time has flown by but my love for both of them has only grown."

The memory also revived fond recollections of Soldier (1998), one of Bollywood’s biggest hits that year, second only to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The action-thriller not only cemented Bobby and Preity’s stardom but also gave fans iconic songs like “Soldier Soldier” and “Mere Dil Jigar Se Guzri Hai.” The pair later collaborated in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007) and Heroes (2008), further strengthening their on-screen chemistry.
On the professional front, Preity is gearing up for her long-awaited comeback with Lahore 1947, produced by Aamir Khan and featuring Sunny Deol. Bobby, meanwhile, continues his career resurgence, recently appearing in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, earning praise for his screen presence.
