How to improve your vocabulary?
I have used this technique forever and I have discovered that it is actually a good way to learn new words.
Whenever you're typing out your update/chapter/story and you wish to substitute a word with a one that may fit better, you can use the thesaurus feature in MS Word. It gives you synonyms and antonyms that can be used in place of the word you have already used.
How to use this feature?
Type the word you wish to find a replacement for and then right click on it. Hover your mouse on the synonyms option and you will be able to see a list of words. You can use any one of them, but be careful about its usage before going ahead with it.
If you want more, than you can click of the Thesaurus option that you will see last when you open the synonyms list. Clicking in thesaurus opens a new pane in the right hand of your screen which is more comprehensive.
P.S. I don't know if this exactly required in this thread, but good usage of words certainly makes your work appealing, so I thought this might help. 😃
