Kanwar Dhillon as an actor and Sachin as a character both degraded

This is genuine constructive criticism for the actor who plays Sachin (a.k.a Kanwar), and I’d consider myself pretty neutral in my stance regarding this. I’ve seen him in his older shows and have considered him as one of the best actors at one point. Hence, this isn’t meant to hate on him but I’m rather being honest about what I, and many other day-to-day viewers, have called out.

Kanwar has degraded as an actor and is only continuing to do so episode by episode. He used to be amazing, literally perfect, when the show started and was on peak until approximately episode 220. Beyond that, he began overacting. His OTT antics and expressions aren’t cute or comical. They are cartoonish, and this is not a cartoon. Neither was his character supposed to be a cartoon.

There’s a clear difference between being naturally funny and trying to be funny, and Kanwar used to embody the former. Now, he tries too hard to be funny in his acting. This has been going on for over 300 episodes and because UKA has no other means to get direct, balanced feedback other than X or IG, it has only gotten worse. I don’t blame the actor for this because, to be fair, it lies within the fan culture. He gets praised for literally anything he does by his fans, which gives him ‘false assurance’. It’s not the right feedback and it is getting perceived as positive reinforcement. Please start looking at other platforms or people who actually follow the show for the show, and the real feedback will be there.

Now, there are some people that can go a little OTT and it would still be bearable. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. While Kanwar is overacting, his character Sachin is also not meant to be a clown or the primary comic relief. He’s a street-smart, unpolished taxi driver, and a character who can be witty without being ridiculous. He can be funny, but it only looks funny when he’s not trying to be funny because his roasting came from character-driven confidence. Now, they’re delivered for laughs, and that’s what makes them fall flat. What used to be sharp humor has turned into forced, slapstick energy that completely strips Sachin of his edge.

I heard Kanwar likes to watch himself so he can improve, hence, I am genuinely urging him to pick up literally ANY episode between 1 to 220 to see how good of an actor he was. Then, revisit any episode beyond that or probably the most recent episodes and see the HUGE, startling difference. From portraying Sachin with complete perfection to only overacting in literally every normal scene (not much in violent and emotional scenes). It’s to the point where even basic actions, like chewing, drinking or reacting are overacted to the point of absurdity. Nothing is subtle and real. It's like cartoon acting, not even theatrical.

There’s also a growing problem with dialogue delivery and script. Words like “please” and “thank you” have turned into “pljj” and “thancku,” which sound unnatural and juvenile. Even phrases like “bhains ki tang,” once funny, are now overused to the point of irritation, literally repeated at least 3 times in every episode.

The creative team, particularly the director and producer, needs to step in. They should limit the exaggerated tapori slang and re-establish balance. Sachin grew up in a modest background, yes, but he interacts daily with educated people while driving. His speech and behavior should reflect both sides of his world, as it used to. Right now, the performance feels like a parody version of the original character.

Sachin was supposed to be a rugged, layered male lead. He was not a walking meme. And what’s worse is that his OTT behavior has started even allowing other characters like Tejas to outshine him, and I’m saying this as a huge SaChi fan.

Every time Udne Ki Aasha or Kanwar gets praised for something, the team seems to overdo it until it loses all charm. The biggest example is Sachin himself. One funny antic gets applauded online, and suddenly it becomes a running gag. Emotional scenes between Renuka and Sachin get acknowledged and now you see Sachin as an adarsh mumma's boy deep down. Subtility is what made Sachin and UKA iconic in the first place, not this cringe melodrama.

Hopefully, this gets taken seriously because I genuinely want him to improve and stop just seeking validation from fans who love him too much to see any imperfections in him.
