Hello all. This part will not b too detailed. Honestly speaking, I didn't have time to frame this update the way I wanted as I have a seminar this week and being the team leader is taking a toll on my mind. M too busy in putting my energy on the topic assigned to me that I neglected the writing in this update. Please excuse the errors and m sorry if the update is not upto the mark.

Here's the update.

Chapter 45

Next Day - Early Morning

Sonam entered Arjun's (Diya's) room with two mugs of steaming coffee. He was still sleeping peacefully hugging a picture frame with a photo of Diya & Sonam along with him. She placed the mugs on the side table and softly ran her fingers through his hair. He opened his eyes to see his baby girl's smiling face. She kissed his cheeks and wished him a Good Morning.

Arjun: Good Morning Princess. Aaj itni subeh subeh??

Sonam: (avoiding meeting his eyes) Who... M sorry Bhai. I was avoiding meeting u yesterday.

Arjun: I know. N I know the reason as well. (sitting with his back resting on the headboard) Diya won't b coming back Princess. No matter how much I cry, how much I miss her, how much I crave for her, she won't b back. N I have accepted this fact now. It's just that it's easy to learn how to start living without a special someone but it's too hard to forget that special someone. I have been living my life for the past two years and I'll continue the same in future as well. I have learnt to cope up with Diya's absence. But I can never forget her. Coping up was easy. The hard part is moving on. N that is what I find impossible to do.

Sonam: Can't things start all over again Bhai?? Can't u give it a try??

Arjun: M already trying. But I don't know how long it will take.

Sonam (handling over the coffee mug & sipping her own): I was scared about ur reaction yesterday. I didn't want to see u hurt. I know u came here just because of my insistence. N I didn't want to witness my strength falling weak.

Arjun: I understand. N I did not mind.

They finished their coffee in silence. Then Sonam took the empty cups to put them away but stopped.

Sonam: M not sure if I should do this or not but... (taking out a diary from the drawer) Whenever u feel that u have enough strength to relive the life we had, just read this once. U will get all ur answers.

With that, she placed the diary next to him & left the room.

Khushi's Room

Khushi & Arnav were talking very seriously. They had noticed the tension present between Sonam & Rishi. They had not talked to each other at all. And Khushi was determined that she will make them solve their issues by hook or by crook. Arnav was not very sure about the idea but had no say in the matter when it comes to his crazy wife.

Khushi: Idea!! Hum un dono ko ek saath kahin bahar bhej dete hain.

Arnav: It won't work Khushi. Wo dono ghar pe baat nai kr rahe toh bahar kaise jaenge??

Khushi: Lekin...

Arnav: Relax!! Main handle krta hu isse.

Rishi's Room

Rishi was busy with his guitar when Arnav entered.

Arnav: Hey!!

Rishi: Morning jiju. Aaiye na.

Arnav (taking a seat opposite to him) Toh fir kya socha hai??

Rishi (confused): Regarding what??

Arnav: Regarding talking to Princess.

Rishi (avoiding eye contact): I don't know jiju. We r fine.

Arnav: (sarcastically) Yeah right!! N m the President of US!!

Rishi (laughing): Aap kb se melodramatic ho gae??

Arnav: Jb se meri life me itni saari drama queens ka ek saath attack hua hai. Most importantly ur Dii n my wife.

Rishi: I don't think u should say that. (teasing) Agar unhone sun lia toh...

Arnav: To fir se mehnat krwayegi, or kya!! But seriously, kuch socha??

Rishi discussed the whole plan with Arnav and finally after making some required changes, they decided to go ahead with that.

Arnav: Do u think it will work?? She will b even more angry.

Rishi: Wohi toh krna hai. I want to generate a reaction out of her. An outburst is required.

Arnav: Fine. Go ahead. Good Luck!!

Sonam's Room

Khushi entered the room to see Sonam deep in thoughts.

Khushi: Kya soch rahi ho Chhutki??

Sonam (coming out of her reverie): Nothing Dii. Aap kb aaye??

Khushi: Bs abi abi. Kaisi chal rahi hai preparation??

Sonam: Good. Rehearsals achhi ja rahi hai. I hope audience likes it.

Khushi: They definitely will. Don't worry.

There was silence in the room & Sonam could understand that Khushi was hesitating to share something.

Sonam: (sighing) U don't need to think too much Dii. Kya kehna chahte ho??

Khushi: Tum Rishi ko maaf nai kr sakti??

Sonam: (putting her head in Khushi's lap): Mai usse naraz nai hu Dii. M just upset. That's it. Koi issues nai hain humme. Tension mt lo.

Khushi: (caressing her hair) Lekin baat nai karoge toh sb theek kaise hoga??

Sonam: Mai initiative nai lena chahti Dii. Those memories r just too painful. Meri itni himmat hi nai hoti k mai uss sb k baare me baat karu.

Khushi: Lekin chup rehna b toh solution nai hai na Bachha.

Sonam: I won't shy away if he wants to talk about it. Lekin mai initiate nai karungi.

Few hours later

After a lot of coaxing & threatening from Arnav & Khushi, Rishi finally decided to talk to Sonam. They can't continue ignoring each other all the time.

Rishi entered the room hesitantly. Sonam was just listening to some songs on her i-pod. She had worn a white short top with a sky blue Capri. As soon as she saw him, she shut the music & concentrated on the unexpected visit. They had too much to catch up and finally Rishi decided to break the silence.

Rishi: I know u were not expecting me here but I want to talk to u.

Sonam just stared at him. He was wearing a plain yellow CK t-shirt with blue jeans. Has he suddenly grown even more handsome or is it only she who felt so?? Sonam was confused about the course her thoughts have been taking for some time now. She reminded herself that this guy is her FRIEND and she should not harbor any such thoughts about him.

Rishi noticed the lost expression on Sonam's face but chose to carry on with the talk. He couldn't afford a distraction at this point of time.

Rishi: M sorry!!

Sonam just started at the guy in front of her. She had no idea why he had apologized or why his eyes were full of guilt?? She had seen his eyes full of anger, mischief, amusement and even another emotion which she couldn't (rather did not want to) acknowledge, but guilt was something she could not bear in those eyes. It was too painful for her. She held his hands and urged him to look at her.

Sonam: (tearing up) Why r u saying sorry??

Rohan: I was not there with u when u needed me the most. I failed as a friend. I was so engrossed in my life that I never cared to know what's going on in urs. U wanted to talk to me and I didn't even bother to listen to u. I should have known that u would have never called me in the middle of the night had it not been urgent. (tearing up) M so sorry Princess. M sorry for letting u down. M sorry for leaving u alone. M sorry for the pain that u had to bear alone because I was not there for u. I don't deserve to b called ur best friend.

Sonam was trying hard to control herself but she could take it no more. She hugged him tightly n cried. She cried for the pain, the trauma, the loneliness she faced. She cried for all the moments when she had missed this person, for making him feel guilty when he was not even at fault.

They finally cried in each other's arms, trying to soothe the pain they had faced, the relation they had doubted and the feelings they were not yet ready to acknowledge in front of each other, although they had accepted them individually.
