heyy guys😛 one of my frnds (sweety.21) had the pleasure of interviewing our veryy own shamu recently..its for a charitable magazine in nepal..its called the "CRUTCHES" she has done a wonderful job putting everything together..thnx to shamu for spending such a long time with us even though he has been really busy lately..she has sent the article in and it shd be published this week..but since its going to be published in Nepal, she wont be getting the copies until dec or jan...she has promised me to send a copy as well..so i'll try to post tht later..but then just thought wld share this now instead of making u guys wait for so long😉 here it goes😃 again, hats off to her for having it done so well👏👏 and a greater applause to shamu for having each and every Q soooo well..with sooo much patience😳😳😳


THE MELODIOUS VOICE OF THE FUTURE

Everyone comes into this world with a dream and a purpose. Every human being has many aspirations for himself and his family. Everyone wants to prove themselves in this world, earn a good name, fame, and wealth. One wants their family to be happy and proud of them. Like many people, a young boy from Kanpur set out to achieve his dreams and earn some fame. Many would think that young Shamit Tyagi was as ordinary as the boy next door, but Shamit possessed a gift that not many have. Shamit was gifted with an amazingly melodious voice. God has given Shamit an amazing gift and his voice is such that everyone, whether old or young, girl or boy, are bowled over. When Shamit sings, people stop to listen and cherish his sweet, honey like voice. If you don't already know Shamit Tyagi as one of the many fine contestants of Sony Television's Fame Gurukul and Dus Ke Dus Le Gaye Dil, you will surely get to know him very soon as he is India's future. Shamit is not only an amazing singer, but he is an amazing person at heart as well. He has a charming personality and cares more about others than himself. Shamit Tyagi is also concerned about the environment and is working with a non profit organization called Seeds of Change to help increase world peace. He has just began his aspiring career and I can guarantee you this much, that we will be hearing a lot more of this youngster in the near future. So, everyone get ready because this is one superstar in the making that I can guarantee will be rocking your world very soon! Shamit has also recently signed a contract with TIPS, one of India's largest music companies and is ready to show the world his immense talent and mesmerize everyone with that soulful voice of his. Let us get to know our singing sensation of tomorrow a little bit better. Excerpts from the interview:

• What inspired or who inspired you to choose singing as a career? Who are your inspirations from the singers today?
• When I was a young kid, I was not very clear as to what I wanted out of life. My main goal was to provide a good support for my family, both financially and mentally. As a kid, I was not really encouraged to learn music. However, I used to make it a point to sit down with my sister and practice whenever she used to as she herself was a brilliant singer. Years passed by, and people gradually started to appreciate my singing. Once I approached college, I really had the desire to become a singer and started to work very hard towards my goal. Lata Mangeshkar Ji and Asha Bhosle Ji are the one I always used to respect.
• . Who do you give the credit to, for where you stand as far as music is concerned? Who is your hero as far as personal life is concerned?
• It would be very hard for me to name just one person. I was lucky to have many people supporting me throughout. My mom has been a great support. Without her nothing would have been possible. Sumana (girl friend) is an excellent singer herself. She definitely helped me through a lot. Monty, my best friend has given me all the encouragement, hopes which has brought me this far. I truly look up to my mom and my grandparents a lot, I respect them and wish to be like them someday. I owe these people so much for everything they have done for me.
• What is your goal in life/your expectations from yourself?
• I used to believe my goal in life was to become a great singer. But my ultimate goal is working for world peace through my music. Becoming one of the best singers is also one of my dreams and I hope to achieve it very soon. I would like to set an example for everyone; I want to show them everything is possible as long as you have hopes and faith in yourself.
• You are deeply interested in world peace. Are you planning to do something towards it which you might want to share?
• I have already started to take action. Peace starts from your own house and World Peace is heart to heart tie. I have started with my friends, family and people around me and I want everyone to work towards it as world peace is something which is very important.
• Describe your life after achieving so much fame in FG and 10 k 10. You seem to have fun interacting with your fans. How does it feel to be adored by thousands?
• Along with everything else comes more responsibility, I feel I have a responsibility towards my fans, family, friends and myself. I have received so much love which words can never describe. It is just a wonderful feeling to know that people around the world know me, love me. After achieving fame, I came across wonderful fans who connect with me, with my family, share my tears, laughter. I always wanted people in my life and now it's unbelievable that so many people have already included me as a part of their family. I feel very blessed to have such fans. I have definitely become more focused and am trying very hard so that I can live up to their expectations.
• What is the wildest/nicest thing u would do for a fan?
• Anything that I could do to make them happy. Sing for them, visit them, almost anything that is in my power. I just love and adore them. I don't like them to be mentioned as my fans, but they are more like my friends. I really appreciate what they've done for me and what they will continue to do for me, and if there is anything I could do for them, I would be more than glad to.
• What is that wildest/nicest thing a fan has done for u?
• My fans have shared all there emotions with me, they have laughed with me, cried with me. They always stand up for me. Even though most of them have never talked to me, they do everything like a good friend would do.
• How do u look at yourself after 5 years from now?
• I think I'll be more ahead in life. I will be working harder. I don't have anything in particular since I don't like to limit myself to anything. I am a firm believer that everyone can achieve anything as long as they trust themselves and work hard towards it. Everyone has a limitless potential. But I definitely do hope to see myself moving forward with life.
• Do you want to talk about the TIPS project?
• TIPS is one of the largest music companies and it is a great opportunity for us. Arijit, Mona and myself are in a contract with them. Our first album shall be launched very soon. The people whom we work with in TIPS are very nice people. They are very straight forward and honest people. I truly cannot ask for anything better. Keeping in mind that we are new, they have done their best. They also implement our ideas which I feel is a wonderful thing.
• Have you improved as far as your singing ability is concerned after FG?
• Yes! Definitely. I have started to do riyaaz which I never did before. I have started to work harder as I realize there are responsibilities I need to fulfill.
• What is special about you as a playback singer?
• I try to emote well and put my heart and soul into every song I sing.
• If you were granted one wish, what would you ask for?
• I would wish that my father and my brother were back. I lost my father at a very young age and whatever little I remember about him, I really miss it. I miss my brother a lott. I wish that they would both be back. My brother and I used to wish for veryy small things but we could not afford it then. Now that we are in a position to afford it, they are not here to enjoy it.

• I love all my fans a lot, I am really thankful to you all for what you have done for me. I really do think about you guys. Sometimes I get dreams about you people (giggles). You have showered me with unconditional love. I want to thank each and everyone of you for that. I also want to say that whatever you do in life, never forget that the ultimate power is in your hands.
