2nd Episode of the serial Khoobsurat and what is established that looks, attraction and being beautiful is the only topic of discussion...From our female lead Aradhaya who eats, sleeps and thinks of being beautiful, to her sidekick friends who follow and agree to whatever Aradhaya says and does and to her parents who instead of talking anything remotely intelligent indulge their daughter's shallow thinking...Sure, other topics of discussions are available but beyond romance and boys nothing seems to venture inside the circle of attraction...One has to be ugly to have a brain!!!
Aradhaya is a pretty girl and she herself knows that she is very beautiful and with it reinforced every single time she is with her friends and family, it seems she has an allergy to anything that is unattractive...Aradhaya and her friends are surfing thru potential grooms and when they see a sight of an attractive man, the automatic conclusion derided from these college girls are that he is a perfect match as a husband...Where parental guidance is vital, it seems lacking as Aradhaya parents are just basking in being praised to being cool and romantic parents...They approve of Aradhaya thinking!!!
The girls are unable to associate with anything remotely ugly to the point where they photoshop their boring and simple principal to a glam pretentious doll for her inauguration in the hall of fame...Aradhaya is proud at the unveiling of the portrait, unable to gauge the distress and anger on the face of the principal's humiliation by the girls...It is remarkable that her friends can even see the anger on the principal's face to prevent a showdown between them and the friends at the unveiling...
Enter two women of leisure, (Aradhaya's mom and her sister)...Both arguing as to what food to eat and get as their cook has taken a day off...The deep conversation diverts between chinese and pizza which is only stalled when Princess Aradhaya returns complaining about the principal's anger at her...She asks for a solution to her role models and like true role models come up with the perfect solution, which is to bunk college and escape a scolding...Who said beauty and brains dont go together...Here the women have it in abundance...
Ishaas (the radio jockey) on the radio becomes the saviour for the Princess, much like the Prince Charming saving the Princess from the clutches of the evil stepmother..(Here, the principal)...However, our princess does not like the advice Ishaas has given to be prepared for a scolding as she wont be able to escape from it...To top it up, the advice to apologise for hurting the principal was too much for our Princess to take...Her realisation dawns on her when the principal mirrors the same words that Ishaas said to her on the radio the night before and voila, a simple sorry did wonders to melt the principal heart...(seems like a first for Princess Aradhaya)...
The next level of attraction is for women falling over themselves when an handsome man enters a room...Here it is the gym where all girls are gauging their eyes over a strapping handsome man...(How I wish women were able to be subtle rather than literally falling over each other...)Forgetting their own workout and a new competition has started who can get nearest to this Italian stallion...
Aradhaya on the other hand wants to personally thank Ishaas for saving her from the wrath of the Principal...It does not go unnoticed that making yourself look beautiful for a unknown voice on the radio is still the top agenda for young friends...Their conversation never falter from what he looks like, how he looks like...
Finally we see our hero (with all his warts and spots) who seems to be working at the same radio station as the jockey ishaas...He is anxiously waiting for his best friend to come so that he can be the face of the press conference...
