The girl who we saw today, the one who adorned a Gujarati avatar...she played Riddhima aka Basket right? Except she looked and acted so different as 'Kumudsundari' that I instantly forgot that this par-excellent actress had played a vastly distinct previously. That's JENNIFER WINGET (SG) for you...! She is simply that good. This is just the beginning because those who have seen her previous work know what she is capable of especially with those expressive eyes and magical voice. Her entry was had SLB written all over it. Kumud's extreme determination, her strong bond with her father was firmly established within the first few minutes of her entry. The delicate shake of her head reminded me of this old world charm which very very few actresses have. She's practical, outspoken and beautifully proud. Kumud definitely has a huge graph (as will most characters in the show) and that will unleash Jennifer's unbelievable talent. I know for a fact that she will leave everyone in awe with her emotional intensity.

Welcome back Jennifer and thank you to the genius called Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The pilot was spectacular, the only little problem I had was with the dubbing but that can be forgotten for the sheer brilliance I saw today. Saraswatichandra's character is very interesting and Gautam has a lot of potential, just slightly thought he could work on his expressions but he's definitely the perfect choice for the character- his body language is spot on. Gumaan is another character which I feel have a lot of layers and is one to watch out. Kumud's family has definitely won me over.

Hey Sanju! Ironically even though my expectations were sky high, I was preparing myself to give Jen some time to sink in to the character (like she did with Ridz) but she already seems so perfect. Her elegance, her mischievous and proudy nature came out as if she was born to play the role of Kumudsundari.

I am one of those who had not seen the lead actress in a show prior to this. I assumed that if Mr Bhansali picked her she must be good . Now I know why he came back to her :)) Yes she looks like a seasoned actress.. Without any overtone of arrogance , she conveyed the essence of Kumud's character quite well . Kumud is beautiful and she knows it..She is strong headed, confident, proud and doesn't hesitate in flaunting what she has..The lake scene was beautifully shot..She is her father's pride and has the same place for him in her heart as Saras has for his mother.. Looking forward to some powerpacked performances, specially by the leads.

So, I saw the title of this thread and thought "Say what? Is someone really that late?!" haha I love you, Reemz. Spot on with everything you said. Jen's proved not only her talent as an actress but her versatility, which is a gift not many in her field can boast of. I can still hear the surprise in my mum's voice when she said, "Wait! Isn't that Riddhima?!" :-) made me feel a sense of pride.

Jen's performance as Kumud is already beautiful and natural. She's fitted into the role as hand-to-glove. Charming, innocent, intelligent and elegant... it's a character with many tones and it's going to be a joy seeing how Jennifer portrays Kumud's journey! Her dialogue delivery and body language has already won me over, all over again :-) What a star.

She's one of the few TV actresses who can actually ACT and that too exceptionally well. Rather than me go on about how amazing she is, I'm sure you'll see it in the coming episodes and especially in the latter episodes where Kumud has to go through various turmoils. Her emotional scenes are something else.
