I mean, the fact that she said Sameer's name as well is only to make the audiences think that he is not the killer ,when in actual fact, he probably is. A red Herring is:

Its something that makes you think that he is not involved, so your suspicions will go on someone else...

Ooh ok....but that is not fair rite?! I mean, audience have sense, and after hearing her say that definitely audience wont suspect sameer, and in the end when it is sameer, i dont think we will be quite excited, as it is cheating!! I mean, in that case just to increase audience's curiosity, anybody can distort dialogues and show any crap, but in the end, the audience should feel less victorious for not having guessed that person cos facts have been distorted, and not cos they were not intelligent or anything 😡 !
