She took in a deep breath as if to calm herself. Today was the day. It was finally here and she could not back down now. There would be no more delay. To her, it seemed as if the real journey of life began at that moment. All that she lived through till then was merely a glimpse. Her life a prologue like the ones in stories and books!

She closed her eyes to go back to the moment that changed her life. The moment when she discovered she would unwillingly have to go away from everything and everyone she loved. Her choice didn't matter. It was only abdicate or get executed, in a way, so to say.

She gathered her composure and stepped out of the car. Upon seeing her, the smile on the girls' face brightened as they gave her a tight hug. Her eyes fell upon him. Swayam. The one she desired. She could feel him reaching out to her when he turned as if some supernatural sensation told him that she had arrived. The wind suddenly turned soft and the world seemed to stop for both of them as their eyes met. If it was up to her, she'd keep looking at him all her life. Hesitantly, she forced herself to look away. She turned her back on him. Yet, she could feel the happiness in Swayam's heart. Without even seeing him...

The winning goal was made and their whole team erupted in fits of happiness and cheers. Sharon took this opportunity to disappear before Swayam's eyes would locate her again.

Upon leaving the auditorium, she ran for the college terrace. She couldn't handle all the pain. Never had she dreamed such a point will come in her life when she had started falling for Swayam. She didn't want any of this. All she wanted to do was run in Swayam's arm and spend the rest of her life with him. Oh, but the cruel destiny. Or call it fate. It just never wants her to be happy for a long period of time.

Something always has to go amiss. Hugging her legs, she cried her heart out. Did she mean any of the words she said to him? Of course not. Never in her wildest dreams either. But she had to. And she would have to continue it till she made sure Swayam hated her and not an ounce of love for her was left in his heart.

It was decided by the Gods. She would never be able to dance again. And she could not take away dance from Swayam. Other than being a lover and a friend, dance was his one identity. Due to something happening to her, she wasn't going to be the reason for him staying away from dance as well. She wouldn't be able to bear that weight on her shoulders.
