"Get well Soon" screamed the placards held by the businessmen protesting the sealings in New Delhi.

The health minister had to avoid a visit to the hostel of AIIMS recently as the anti reservation protestors were ready to greet him with flowers, wishing him a speedy recovery….

Scenes inspired by "Lage Raho Munnabhai", the film that brought "Gandhigiri" back into fashion

Not long ago a candle light vigil was organised by a news channel at India Gate in memory of three young deceased people, whose families seemed to have waited forever for justice to be served- the scene right off the runaway success "Rang De Basanti". Justice has been done in one of the cases already while the other two families are hopeful of a similar outcome.

Bollywood bashing is a common pastime with so many of us. But these two films have brought to the fore the power of cinema as an agent of social change.

The B of the Bollywood also stands for big bucks…dreams on celluloid have now found a new market overseas, where thousands of people, not just from the subcontinent, throng the cinemas to watch the magic of romance in familiar looking locales. Aishwarya Rai is voted the most beautiful women (would she have been popular if she were just another MS. World turned Model?), Karan Johar is invited to be a judge on the Ms World …

Bollywood filmmakers seem to have found the right balance between social responsibility and being the dream merchants this year.

Has bollywood arrived?? Has it achieved its place in the sun? Would an Oscar be a cherry on the cake?

When Bollywood repeatedly and consistantly does well, it will get the due recognition. 'Oscar' is not a be all and end all event.

hehehe
